HOW TO VOTE?

The device at the head of the Republican ticket is an eagle. ' ' The device at the head of the Democratic ticket Is a rooster. "" The Demoeratlo ticket Is In the flrt column the Republican ticket la In the aecond column, and so on. Below is a sample of the heading of the Democratic and Republican tickets, with the respective party devices, In the order in which they will appear on the official ballot!

REPUBLICAN TICKET.

For Presidential Elector) State-at-Large, GEORGE A. CUNNINGHAM.

Thousands of Indiana Republicans will lose their votes on Nov. 8 on account of imperfect knowledge of the method of casting a ballot. Ninetenths of those who make mistakes will be persons who are absolutely aure that they know how it is done. It Is worth while to be certain. DON'T DISFRANCHISE YOURSELF. The voter who reads carefully the following instructions will take no chances on such a contingency. When you go to your voting place you will be handed three ballots: The state ballot On red paper, containing the candidates to be voted on for state offices, except for senator and representative. The county ballot Printed on white paper. The township ballot Printed on yellow paper, containing the township candidates. If you want to vote a straight Republican ticket, make a cross within the circle containing the eagle at the head of the second column of the ballot. You must get your ballot and the blue pencil of the polling clerka in tht lection room. If you want to vote a straight ticket make a cross, thus, X, within the largo circle at the head of the ticket containing the device of the party for whose candidates you wish to vote. If you do not wish to vote a straight ticket, you must not make a cross in the large circle containing the device of your party, but you must make a cross, thus X, on the small square to the left of the name of each candidate for whom you wish to vote, on whatever list of candidates it may be. If the large circle at the head of tho ticket Is marked, and the ballot Is marked at any other place, it is void and cannot be counted, unless there be no candidate for same office In the list printed under such marked device, in which case you may Indicate your choice for such office by marking a cross, thus X, on the square to the left of the name of any candidate for such office on any other list. The cross must be placed within or on the circle or square or the ballot is void and cannot be counted. Do not mutilate your ballot, or mark It by either scratching a mmo off or writing one on, or In any other way, except by marking in the circle or on the squares as before mentioned. Otherwise the oallot will not bo counted. You must not put any mark of any kind on your ballot except as before mentioned. After marking your ballots, and before leaving the booth, fold them separately so that the face of each cannot be seen, and so the initial let ters of the names of the polling clerks on the back thereof can be seen. Then hand your ballots to the Inspector, the pencil to the polling clerk, and leave the room. If you are physically unable to mark your ballot, or cannot read English, so Inform the polling elerks, and make an affidavit to that effect, and, tell them haw you wish to vote, and they will mark your ballot for you. But neither you nor the clerks must permit any other person to hear or see low your ballot Is marked. R is a penal offense to declare that yon can not read English or cannot mark.yonr ballot, if, In fact, you can; and la no ease shall the ballots be marked T the pell clerks if the voter can read the English language or la physically able to mark his ballot, and them not until the voter has made the affidavit. If you ahould accidentally, or, by mistake, deface, mutilate or spell your ballot, return It to the poll clerks aad get a new ballot. You must not accept a ballot from any person outside of the election room. Any ballot outside is unlawful and it is a penitentiary offense to have such a ballot in your possession, whether you attempt to vote it or not. You must not attempt to hold any conversation in the election room except with members of the election board and poll clerks. Use only the blue pencil handed to you by the polling clerk In marking your ballot. If you mark with any other pencil your ballot is void and will not be counted. You must not put any mark of any kind on your ballot eixept as before mentioned. "

THE CRIME OF 1 MOST

v.

NOT BE COMMITTED AGUE

"Get out and vote This may well be the war cry of Indiana Republicanism from now until the hour comes for closing the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Let there be no repetition of the crime of 92, when through the Indifference and inaction of Republi cans the country was sentenced to a Sjuadrennium which had for its symbol the soup house. No Republican's responsibility en ds with his casting his Own ballot on Nov. 8. Upon him rests the duty of seeing that his neighbor does likewise. Here Is a juncture In which every Republican is his brother's keeper. To win a great victory at the polls this year it is only necessary for the full Republican vote to be cast. In order that the full Republican vote be cast it is absolutely necessary that from now en Republicans of the rank and file, who are final determinants of party success or failure, not only arouse themselves from that senee ef security which, uninterrupted, would mean defeat, but Impress upon their neighbors the Importance, the necessity, of following a similar course. GET OUT AND VOTE. MORE THAN THAT, GET OUT THE VOTffc j

GET OUT AND VOTE!

But your duty goes further than that. It is essential to the success ef Republicanism in Indiana that you shall help

Is Signed by the Liberal Mr. Cohen Of Indianapolis. Indianapolis, Ind., October 30. Conditions in the Indianapolis polo team's camp have begun to grighten Manager Cohen has signed Sylvia, a promising young player, as secondrush, and it is predicted that if he has a chance he will make good. He has been working at the local rink for some time. Sylvia will probably play with Kokomo for two weeks, to get in better condition for the season. From recent correspondence with McGilvary, Manager Cohen believes that the difference between the speedy rusher and the club will soon be adjusted and his signed contract received. It is not expected that Pierce will make any overatures until after the election next month. If Captain Bannon continues to held out, the team will not be without the services of a goal-tender, as Harper, formerly of Terre Haute, has been reserved, and will be signed if nothing is heard from the big cage guardian. It is thought, however, that when Bannon hears of the latest action of the Western League magnates on the salary limit, he, as well as the rest of the players, will come into the fold. Harper was transferred from Elwood's reserve list to that of Indianapolis.
