It is just a common cold, people aay, Itoeie's no danger in that. Admitting their Htatement, then there are uncommon colds, rclds which are dangerous; for many a fetal sickness begins with a cold. If we could tell the common cold from the uncommon we could feel quite safe. But we r&n't. The uncommon variety is rarely recognized until it has fastened its hold on "the lungs, and there are symptoms of conbmption. - At the first symptoms the careful person will heed the warning by taking a mild laxative : some vegetable pill that will not disturb the system or cause griping. About the best is "Dr. Pierce's Pleasant Pellets." If the cold starts with a cough, and it persists then some local, treatment for this rendition should be taken. HISTORY IS REPEATED
OLD FASHIONED JEWELS AEE COMING INTO VOGUE.
GRANDMOTHER'S LOCKETS
Can be Gotten Out and Brushed Off And Worn Link Bracelets.
Get your old-time jewel cases and your treasure boxes for the history of jewelry fashion is repeating itself. We are in the midst of a revival of old-time jewelry, and woe be unto her who in a moment of economy exchanged the melted gold of grand
mother's lockets, pins, chains, or bracelets for the newer designs in
which we have been reveling for the past few years. Perhaps it is a bit of shirt waist evolution, but, at any rate, the girl who has a box of oldfashioned jewelry upon which she has looked as a past and useless vanity is now the one to be envied. The fashion for the re-creaticn of old jewelry into forms complying with the old-new ideas of today of the airy, fairy settings which have found favor so long the women are clamoring for the deep-carved golds, unset, or, if adorned with stones, those old-time fashionings of pearls in jet, or topaz or amethyist in silver any -creation which bears the stamp of age and of oddity. Even the matrons have pulled from the bottoms of jewel cases the heavy log chains or the beautifully carved or chased ones which they wore as girls; and the earrings, so elaborate in days past but which the women of today regard in the light of a barbarity, are being wrought into, handsome new shapes for newer uses. Brings Out Old Jewels. ' One girl" is the envy of all her friends, and all because of a heavy old jet chain with a locket of ject deeply set with many round, pure pearls. With the chain are pins and earrings, which were a part of a legacy left her by her grandmother. This exquisite set of jewelry had lain in a valvet-lined box for many years. The present fad brought about their resurrection. Another girl with clever ideas has taken the deep-woven link bracelets which her mother wore as a young woman, and by having the goldsmith weave the ends of the two together she has formed a stunning, rlose-fit-tiug gold collar. The bracelets bore the gold fringe which was then in fashion and were clasped with a square of gold set in the center with a pearl, inclosed in gold with the old time black enamel outline. A young woman who went on a visit to her grandmother back in New York State recently has returned with the "drops" to a set of rare old turtoise shell earrings and breastpin. The three formed a set in the original days and the shell is as clear and beautifully colored as opal. As pin and earrings the young woman, of course found them unavailable, and so she has taken the three "drops" and had -them strung on a fine gold chain of modern make. As a result she has a necklace which cannot be duplicated. Links Together Odd Shapes. Still another enthusiast, whose mother had a set of earrings with long gold drops, has converted them into many things. The long, oddshaped pieces which dangled from the disk fitting close to the ear, were placed together, and formed an exceedingly odd shirt waist set. The diks were then carried to the jeweler and made into two small finger rings, around bits of gold resembling aii odd srarnet ring.
Better Than Pills. The question has been asked In what way are Chamberlain's Stomach and Liver Tablets superior to the ordinary cathartic and livpr pills? Our answer is They are easier and more pleasant to take and their effect is so gentle and so agreable that one hardly realizes that it is produced by a medicine. They not only move the bowels but improve the appetite and aid the digestion. For sale at 25 cents per bottle by A. O. Lnken & Co., and W. II. Sudhoff, corner Fifth and Main streets.

' the Credit Plan Ton Money
What it has done for Others it can do for You
OT long ago a young man remarked to one of the Credit Store's representatives : "I never thought that I could afford the clothes that I have now. My money all went every week ; I couldn't keep track of it, somehow. But since coming to your store I
have learned how to save."
jjThere's the gist of the argument in those few words. The small amounts that ordinarily would go here and there are paid to us, and you secure the very best Ready-to-wear Clothing. Better still, you pay while wearing, and there is no extra charge. This store is willing to compare its prices and qualities at any time. But the one fact the Credit Store wants to impress upon your mind to-day is the saving part of the credit plan. That's the feature that means more to you than all others it saves you money in the long run.

What the Furs are Telling THERE is news from the Fur section to-day, and it seems to be telling that fur time is close at hand. That's the time when most women begin to prepare. CThere are some pretty new scarfs in stock now. They are made in a better way than the ordinary sort, because we took particular pains to see that each one was properly filled. In consequence, they look large and fluffy. Tbc $5 kinds look like $8 scarfs; the $7 kinds are as pretty ss the usual $9 qualities, and so on. You'll find the Furs better than usual, too, better color and quality. CLNext week we'll tell you in detail of the various kinds. To-day we merely suggest the scarfs particularly needful for cool evenings. tXScarfs in Isabella, Sable, Bear and other Furs.... $2.50 to $12
