The Palladium For JOB WORK
POLO GOSSIP
Manager Barnes, says the Kokomo Tribune, has all his men signed and in the city ready to begin practive work at the Alhambra. Mr. Barnes
ft els confident that he has a strong
team, one that will make good showing for the city they represent. They are: First rush, Bob Luxson; second rush, Charles Smith; center, Charles Fitzgerald; half back, Tim Hayes; goal, D. K. Cusick; utility, Mike O'Malley. The Central league will have three referees this year, instead of two as was the case last year. They are: J. Henry Moran, Charles I). Gillespie, and F. A. Larkins. Mr. Barnes is not ready to announce who will be his floor manager this season. Who is Mortimer Rhodes? Secretary Durbin has Issued a bulletin announcing the changes and trades in the line-up of the teams and to the Marion team is credited the addition of Mortimer Rhoades in place of Joe Fox, who is released as a play er but still signed as a manager. There are evidently some people around Marion who still think thatFrank Warner was imposed upon by ether members of the team, and that he was run by the team, and that ousy. These people were very susceptible to Warner's willes, for that individual certainly had the slickest way of pulling the wool over the eyes of certain fans, and he did it to a queen's taste. He may be a good player, and undoubtedly is, but it was his own foolishness that led him away from the Foxy Five. If he had always played polo away from home, as he did here, he would still be second rush on the Marion team. Secretary Durbin has issued a call for a special meeting of the Western Polo league in Anderson today for the purpose of placing all club owners under oath that they will not pay more than $260 per week for any Western league team. It is
probable that the managers will also make affidavit that they will not pay transportation both ways for players
who are now in the east. Official announcement was made also yesterday of the following changes in the
reserve, list : David Tarrant in place of Higgins, who refused to sign a contract with Mnncie; William Robinson added to Loganspprt to take the place of W. If. Conway, who refused to sign; Charles O'Malley added to El wood to take the place of Harper, released; Robert Loxson, added to Kokomo, to take the place of William Curtis, who was released because he said he would not play this season; Martin Rhoads added to Marion in place of Joseph Fox, who is released as a player and signed as a manager of Marion team.
-Jr Just what can be gained by any club owner or stockholder in any club in advocating the smashing of the polo salary limit agreement is hard to understand. They only continue the disaffection and discord among the players by their inconsistent, chatter. It takes three or more clubs to form a league, and the Western League owiuts have agreed to drop any club which violates the agreement. Some persons may lose a pretty good investment by endeavoring to "bull" things through when they made money and others held the bag. A percentage agreement would be the most effective manner of bringing club management, to understand that the interest of one is the interest of all. Indianapolis News. The above only goes to show that Brother Ed. is still sore on the Richmond management. Ed had best stiek to his one sporting specialty pugalism.

AMUSEMENTS
A great many people become prejudiced the moment that they see the paper on the bill boards announc ing the appearance of a burlesque company, and these very same people when they go to Nek York, or any other big city, are the first to patronize the big Broadway productions, which are billed as Extravaganza's, take for instance the "Wizzard of Oz" "Babes in Toy-land,' ' "Blue Beard," "The Isle of Spice," "Paris by Night," "A Venetian Ro
mance," Etc., Etc., even go back as "Baba" or "The
Crook." What was any of these productions but great big burlesques True they are produced on an elaborate scale, so much so that you never have a chance to witness the original production in its entirety. The Broad way Burlesque Company, that is billed to appear at the New Phillips Theatre, Wednesday, November 2, comes to our city as a burlesque com pany and does not style itself as an extravaganza, the show is given in its entirety, nothing being omitted, they give just exactly the same performance as they do in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, St. Louis and all other big cities where they have appeared to crowded and well pleased houses. Take ' any of the product ions named above, and what will yon find in them. A lot of pretty and shapely girls, elegant scenery and costly costumes, bright and catchy music, and clever comedians. You will find just the same in "The Broadway Burlesquers," but this Company will even do better. It will afford more genuine fun and laughter in one evening than all the other combined. This attraction is the one that you cannot afford to miss. It was here twice last season, gave satisfaction and comes to the New Phillips Wednesday, November 2.
There is more Catarrh in this section of the country than all other diseases put together, and until the last few years was supposed to be incurable. For a great many years
doctors pronounced it a local disease and prescribed local remedies, and by constantly failing to cure with
local treatment, pronounced it incurable. Science has proven catarrh to
be a constitutional disease and therefore requires eonatmmonal treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure, manufactured by F. J. Cheney & Co., Toledo,
O., is the only constitutional cure on the market. It is taken internally in doeses from 10 drops to a teaspoonful It acts directly on the blood and mucous surfaces of the system. They offer one hundred dollars for any case it fails to cure. ' Send for circulars and testimonials. Address, J. F. Cheney & Co., Toledo, 0. Sold by druggists 75c. nail's Familv Pills are the best

Bobbed the Grave. A startling incident is narrated by John Oliver of Philadelphia, as follows: "I was in an awful condition My skin was almost yellow, eyes sunken, tongue coated, pain continually in back and sides, no appetite, growing weaker day by day. .-vThree physicians had given me up. Then I was advised to use Electric Bitters, to my great joy, the first bottle made a decided improvement. I continued their use for three weeks, and am now a well man. I know they robbed the grave of another victim. ' No one Jiould fail to try them. Only 50 cents guaranteed at A. G. Luken & Co.'s drug store.

Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. Xo one who is acquainted with its good qualities can be surprisedat the great popularity of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. It not only cures colds and grip ecectually and permanently, but prevents these diseases from resulting in pneumonia. It is also a certain cure for croup. Whooping cough is not dangerous when this remedy is given. - It contains no opium or other harmful substance and may be given as confidently to a baby as to an adult. It is also pleasant to take. When 11 of these facts are takn into consideration it is not surprising that people in foreign lands, as well as at home, esteem this remedy very highly and very few are willing to take any other after having once used it. For sale by A. G. Luken & Co., and W. H. Sudhoff, corner Fifth and Main streets.
