WINCHESTER GIRL Proves to Be Skilled Politician -and Men Yield to Advice. .."Women as polittieal manipulators jire about as rare as men as president

ot . ladies' aid societies,- but politicians of great experience boast of such a woman about the headquarters of the Republican state committee in the English. She is one of the half score of pretty stenographers employed in the office. Jiy her shrewdness and human insight, combined with a quick grasp of the situations, she has become recognized as a natural wielder of "affairs politique." Miss Fanny Butler of Winchester is her name. Before coming to Indianapolis she had never thought much about politics, but when she became involved in the busy moil of a campaign fight, she immediately shared the fascination that comes with it. Her services at headquarters have become almost imperative. She knows a good part of these state secrets, because she has contributed some suggestions to shaping them, and as letters are dictated to her, she is asked about the correctness of certain plans. In short, she has become a manager in herself, for she. has charge of all the stenographic work and oversees things in general. "Do I like politics?" she said, "Oh, sometimes I get sick of it. Sometimes I am fascinated, and then other times it seems like everything else. "But, then, there is a good deal of interest in politics. Why, after my experience here, I do think I should die of ennui were I to go to a pink tea or a card party now. They would seem so tame after the excitement of learning, a little about politics. "Would I like to vote? Oh, I nev er thought much about it. I suppose if some women would start an issue for woman's suffrage I would get as erratic as the rest of them, but as it is now I would not go to the polls to vote for anything in the world." "A Republican, Well, I should say I am, and I would like to see anybody call me a Democrat. You bet, when women do get politics, they are dyed-in-the wool politicians, and they will stand up for their party through thick and thin. "No, I wouldn't start any controversy for Woman's suffrage, because it seems rather foolish to me. I am satisfied to work here in the office and see the men do the fighting at

the polls. Anyway, Roosevelt doesn't j

need the women's vote to elect him. As it is, he is going to have votes to spare.

There is more Catarrh in this section of the country than all other diseases put together, and until the last few j-ears was supposed to be incurable. For a great many years doctors pronounced it a local disease and prescribed local remedies, and by constantly failing to cure with local treatment, pronounced it incurable. Science has proven catarrh to be a constitutional disease and therefore require eonnti rational trwt ment. Hall's Catarrh Cure, manufactured by F. J. Cheney & Co., Toledo, 0., is the only constitutional cure on the market. It is taken internally in doeses from 10 drops to a teaspoonful It acts directly on the blood and mucous surfaces of the system. They offer one hundred dollars for any case it fails to cure.
