MORE SELF CONDEMNATION

Dcmccratic Platform Denounces a Law of Democratic Creation. Not content with repudiating, .by cowardly silence the national policies which have been discussed in every Democratic state platform of the past, the recent Democratic state convention condemned, In its closing paragraph, a law of its own creation, when it said: "The Democracy of Indiana recommends the repeal of the metropolitan police law, and favors the restoration to the citiejs of the state of the right of local self-government." The present metropolitan police law was passed by a Democratic legislature at a time when a Democratic governor was in authority. There were no- compunctions then about "taking away the right of selfgovernment." as this platform now declares was done by the framers of this measure. The whole truth is that this law is objectionable to Democratic leadership because the appointing power is now Republican, and herein, as in rery other declaration of this remarkable platform, Indiana Democratic leadership confesses its inability to rise above the limitations of mean and petty partisanship. Chamberlain's Cauh Remedy. No one who is acquainted with its good qualities can be surprisedat the great popularity of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. It not only cures colds and grip ecectually and permanenth, but prevents these diseases from resulting in pneumonia. It is also a certain cure for croup. Whooping cough is not dangerous when this remed3T is given. It contains no opium or other harmful substance and may he given as confidently to a baby as to an adult. It is also pleasant to take. When 11 of these facts are takn into consideration it is not sur prising that people in foreign lands, as well as at home, esteem this remedy very highly and very few are willing to take any other after having once used it.
