HEW TROPHIES TO BE GIVEN Special Rates on All The Railroads To Draw the Crowds. (Special to the Palladium.) Chicago, October 0. For the fifth annual international live stock exposition, to be held at the stock yards from November 20 to December 8. General Manager W. E. Skinner announces a prize list of .fS.j.OOO, the largest on record for the greatest live stock show in the world. The list this year is .$7,000 greater than that of 1003. Entries in all the classes will be much larger in number and in many casese of higher grade. The horse show department last year was a popular innovation, and this year the number of horses competing for rib bons and prizes will be larger by a good majority. Principal Breeds For Show. The following breeds are to make up the bulk of the exposition: Cattle Shorthorns, Aberdeen-Angus, Ilerefords, Galloways, Red Polls, Polled Durhams. Sheep Shropshires, Southdowns, Oxfords, Ilampshires, Cotswolds, Leicester's, Lineolns, Cheviot, Dorse Horns, Rambouillets. Swine Berkshires, Poland Chinas, Chester Whites, large Yorkshires, Duroc-Jerseys, Tamworths, and Thin Rinds. Horses Percherons, Clydesdales, Shires, Belgians, Suffolk Punches, Hackneys, German Coachers, French Coachers, Shetland ponies. New Thropies Are Offered. Two new thropies are offered by the Union Stockyards and Transit company to take the place of the Spoor trophy, which was won by thef Iowa Agricultural college. One of the new prizes practically is a replica of the Spoor trophy, and was designed by A.C.Cain, the Freneh sculptor of domestic animals. The other trophy was made by V Peter, another famous Parisian designer of animals. The Spoor trophy, which was carried off by the Haweyes last year, was won by the Pierce steer Advance in 1900, this animal being the highest priced beef steer ori record $150 a hundredweight. This was a victory for Aberdeen-Angus breeders. Wood's Principal was the winner the next year a Hereford victory. Then Iowa carried off the prize with a Angus, and repeated th etrick again last year. From all territory on lines of the Chicago Passenger association in Ohio, Indiana, Mic-'iiiran and Illinois a round trip ra'.e of one fare plus $2, except wIktc o h and one-third fare makes a lo ve;- rate, has been granted. It is exj cted that the through lines running south of the Ohio river will carry these rates on down to Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee, the Virginias, and the Carolina s. Tickets for regular passengers will be on sale Nov 27, 2S, and 29. Exhibit ers can use rates on Nov. 25. Lines of the Western Passenger Association make the same rates. Entries for all the classes except horses close next Saturday. Be it ordained by the Common Coudeil of the city of Richmond ,that it shall be unlawful for any express wagon, or other wagon engaged in the transfer of baggage, goods and merchandise for the general public for hire, to stand at any place or in an,v manner while awaiting engagements, except as herein provided, to-wit : On Ninth street, at its intersection with Main street, one wagon at. each corner; on Seventh street, at its intersection with Main street, one wagon each at the northeast and northwest corners; on Sixth street, at its intersection with Main street, three wagons each on the northeast and northwest corners; on Tenth street, at" its intersection with Main street, one wagon each on the southeast and southwest corners. , And said wagons shall stand parallel with said cross streets, as near the curbing as possible, and not nearer than twenty feet from the Main street crossing Section 2. Any person having charge of any such express or other wagon, who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction, be fined in any sum not exceeding twenty-five dollars. Section 3. In case there should be applications for more express wagon stands than are provided for in this ordiuanee, the chief of police is here" by authorized and empowered to place such additional express wagons at such other points that he may deem suitable and that are not in conllict with this or any other ordinance of said city. Section 4.
