"The Midnight Flyer." Patrons of the theater today demand stirring plays of the realistic order and to meet the demand Mr. Ed Anderson is presenting "The Midnight Flyer," which conies to the New Phillips tomorrow matinee and night. Mr. Anderson claims to carry more sc nery and mechanical stage, effects than any melodrama louring the country. The company tvv.cenling the play is said to be exceptionally good. Numbered with the east is an old Richmond boy, Bert Xoblette, who has attained not a little fame in his character creation, "The SHELDON AND M'MILLAN, Coon From Hoboken." The strength of the production merits good houses at both performances tomorrow. "Fogg's Ferry." At the New Phillips theater Tuesday night, October 4, the popular comedy drama, "Fogg's . Ferry," which has been continuously before the public for the last twenty years, and which is famed for having made several well known stars. Minnie Maddern (Fiske) being one of them, is to be given in a new dress this season. The new version has the commendation of the large western cities like Chicago, where it has recently been played, and is given in a very handsome scenic production. A strong cast will interpret the characters. Particular attention will be given to the sensational scenes, such as tne lorpeao explosion unaer trie . i i T 1 i it' bows of a steam boat. A number of specialties will be introduced. The. favorite comedy star, Mattie Vickers, will play Mrs. Fiske's old part, Has Sold a Pile of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy.
