Carroll is on the sick list. .. f Chalmer An ghee wife and father and mother, spent Sunday with friends and relatives at New Madison. Mrs. L. 0. Anderson has a fine lot of fall millinery now in and invites the ladies to call and see them. Mrs. Dan Williams spent Saturday and Sunday at Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Charles and Mrs. A. W. Woolman were the guests of Wilson Charles and family Sunday. Word has been received here that on Sunday, Sept. 11th, at 3 o'clock, at te home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wells, near Ootegah, Carl Retz and Miss Alice Wells were united in marriage. Carl has been engaged in running a meat market there for the past three or four years and is highly respected as a reliable and worthy young man. The bride once resided with her parents in that city and is a charming young lady. The young couple returned to Wagner and will make that place their future ehome. Carl is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Retz, of this city, and his many friends here and in this vicnty wish them a long and happy life. John Atkinson of Richmond was in our city Tuesday on business. Frank Thomas is at Williamsburg this week working on the new hall. ' Mrs. Carl Coggeshall of Williamsburg has the typhoid fever. Last Saturday night about 11 o'clock Jesse Study's barn northeast of town was seen to be on fire and it burned to the ground. Besides 500 bushels of oats, horses, cows, poultry, farming implements were lost. The loss was a eavy'one and only a small insurance was carried. How the fire originated is a mystery. Mrs. Stigall has moved in her property north of town and Mr. Bogue and family have moved in with Grandma Keever. Elwood Borren and wife have mov ed into their home east of the creamery recently vacated by Billy Wilcutts. Mrs. George Thompson, son of Lawrence and daughter, Alta, of near Union City returned home Sunday after a short visit, here with Howard Thompson and family. Alande Keever is spending a few days at the World's Fair. Ben Gardner is building a new sum mer kitchen south of their house on Main street. The Union Christian Endeavor gave a social at the home of Miss Mary Woodard on Green street last FrirTav evening. The lawn was CK beautifully decorated with Chinese lanterns and after various amusements were indulged in refreshments were served. Rev. Humphrey, of the Methodist Conference, of Cincinnati, gave a temperance lecture Sunday morning at the Methodist church and at the Friends church in the evening. Frank Hasley and wife of Winchester who have been visiting relatives here have returned home. Miss Elizabeth Hasley of Concord visited relatives here last week. Only Did His Duty as He Saw it. "I deem it my duty to add a word of praise for Chamberlain's Colic, Cho'era and Diarrhoea Remedy,' ' says J. Wiley Park, the well known merchant and postmaster at Wiley, Ky. "I have been selling it for three or four years, and it gives complete satisfaction. Several of my customers tell me they would not be without it for anything. Very often, to my knowledge, one single dose has cured a severe attack of diarrhoea, and I positively know that it will cure the flux (dysentery)! You are at liberty to use this testimonial as you please." Sold by A. G. Luken & Co. and W. H. Sudhoff, Fifth and Main street. Stopover at 'World's Fair on Tickets West via St. Louis Over Pennsylvania Lines. .. DUBLIN. - . .
Qniute a rain Sunday morning. Mrs. Thomas Hall has returned from her visit to her son-in-law, Rev. Sheidler and family at Warsaw, Ind. Farmers are busy this week seeding their wheat. The peach crop even of Dublin has turned out far better than was looked for. We would advise everybody who can to set out peach trees in the end it "will pay." John Champe and sister, Mrs. John Miles, from near Jacksonburg, and sister-in-law, Miss Frances Q-uTl, are among the late additions to the World's Fair. Fred Carmony and wife of Iindianapolis were guests of their many old friends in Dublin last week. In coming to Dublin don't fail to notice the Model barter shop of Guy Wilson, just east of the postoffice. An unusual per ent of tomatoes seems to have rotted on the vines this fall, especially those lying on the ground. Samuel Wilson of Chicago came Saturday on a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Wilson. Leonard Champe started to Cincinnati Tuesday morning having a position in a moulding room, that he has been engaged n formerly. Rev. J. S. Parker, a member of the southeast conference of the M. E. church, filled the pulpit of the U. B. church on east Main street Sunday evening. Rev. Parker was a former schoolmate of Rev. Geo. E. Floyd, the regular pastor. Quite a groupe of the Champe family relationship were photographed Monday afternoon in front of Dr. Champ's pleasant home yard. Some in the group were from Emporia, Kansas, others from New Lisbon, Henry County and different other points. 4 Aunty Mayall of the Smiths Old Lady's Home in Richmond has been in Dublin several weeks visiting her many friends. Miss Zera, daughter of Dr. Harry Gray, of Dunkirk, Ind., is here the guest of her grandparents and many other young associates. John E. Scott attended the big horse sale last week at Indianapolis. Mr. Scott is evidently a specialist in horse flesh. As yet (at this writing) we have had no frosts which is causing many to be thankful for especially in regard to the tomato crop, for a hard frost would at this time run into the .many thousand dollars loss, to those who yet have a large crop on the vines. Thousandds are evidently wishing that a big buckwheat crop might be rained down about the land this season as it would go far towards mitigating the enormous cost of bread at present with a prospect of still advancing. More Riots. Disturbances of strikers are not early as grave as an individual disorder of the system. Overwork, loss of sleep, nervous tension will be followd by utter collapse, unless a reliable remedy is immediately employed. There'a nothing so efficient to cure disorders of the Liver or Kidneys as Electric Bitters. It's a wonderful tonic, and effective nervine and the great e stall around medicine for run down systems. It dispels nervousness, Rheumatism and Neuralgic and expels Maaria germs. Only 50c, and satisfaction guaranteed by A. G.
