44444444444 The Sign of the Cross, UL f prominent players from WilHani Greet s original London, Eng., comes to the Gennett Theatre on Monday evening September 19th. Mr, Fred G. Berger has bought the American right to the play and the organization that will present it in this city is one of the best which has yet appeared in this unique drama in the United States. "The Sign of the Cross" deals with elemental passions and touches chords that recognize no restrictions of time or place. It tells a thrilling story of the oppression of the early Christians by the tyrant, Nero, and presents a series of beautiful stage pictures of the sumptuous magnificence of a pagan nation. The production as seen in this city will be exactly the same that appeared during the phenomenal London engagement of the piece at the celebrated Lyric The atre, where it ran to crowde houses for over two years, and which has been meeting with so much success in this country the past five years. Wedded, But No Wife. Selma, Herman, who made her debut in " Darkest Russia" a few years ago; has reached the importance of a full fledged star, and is so announc ed 04i the bills in connection with next week's program at the Gennett theatre. The clever young actress will essay the highly emotional role of Winnie Winfield in Maurice J. Fielding's most recent melodramatic success, "Wedded But No Wife." Miss Herman, like good wine, improves with age, and as she has found in Winnie a role suited to her temperament, an excellent performance is the result. The management has provided a splendid supporting com pany. More Riots. Disturbances of strikers are not iearly as grave as an individual disorder of the system. Overwork, loss of sleep, nervous tension will be followd by utter collapse, unless a reliable remedy is immediately employed. There 'i nothing so eflicient to cure disorders cf the Liver or Kidneys as Electric Bitters. It's a wonderful tonic, and effector nervine and the great e stall around medicine for run down systems. It dispels rervousness, Rheumatism and Neuralgu- and expels Maaria germs.. Only 50c, and satisfaction guaranteed by A. G. Lken & Co. ,1h5 Kind Yoa Hav Always Boct
