C. tL ROAD IS NEGLECTED
C., H. & D. SYSTEM DOES NOT IMPROVE CHICAGO SERVICE. CAUSES COMMENT There Have Been None of the Expected Interesting Develop, ments. The fact that the C, II. & D. has not yet arranged a Chicago connection for the passenger traffic over the C, C. & L. causes comment in local railroad circles. Up to the present time the C, II. & D. Company is not actively operating the C, C. & L. The latter company continues to op erate Its local passenger trains be tween Cincinnati and (iiiffin, Ind. It also is operating freight trains through to Chicago, but thus far there have been none of the interesting developments which were expected. Instead of paying attention to the C, . & L. it is now reported the C, II. & I), intends to vastly improve its Chicago service in connection with the Monon, and that handsome new trains will be put into service. The visit of C. II. Rockwell, Chicago Traffic Manager of the Monon, to Cincinnati yesterday was ' construed as having something to do with this improved service. The new rivalry between the Big Four and the C, .II & D. for Detroit and Toledo business is bound, it is claimed, to react in many directions. The new C, II. & D. Company evidently intends to make its presence felt in many directions. Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. In Praise of Chamberlain's Colic, "Allow me to give you a few words in praise of Chamberlain's Colic, Choi era and Diarrhoea Remedy," says Mr. John Ilamlett, of Eagle Pass, Texas. "I suffered one week with bowel trouble and took all kinds of medicine without getting any relief, when my friend, Mr. C. Johnson, a merchant here, advised me to take this remedy. After taking one dosel I felt greatly relieved and when I ad taken the third dose was entirely cured. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting this great remedy in the hands of mankind." TUAIffOL PEOPLE
They Are Found in Every Part ef Richmond. Many citizens of Richmond have good reason to be thankful for burdens lifted from aching backs, which they bore patiently for years. Scores tell about their experience publicly. Here's a case of it: Mrs. L. Aldrieh, of 407 North Thirteenth street, says: "For several years my kidneys were out of erder and two or three times each year I was laid up and had to take medicine. I had at such times constant aching pains through my loins and in the kidneys. I could not rest comfortably and in the morning was lame and sore all over and was often scarcely able to get up. Learning about Doan's Kidney Pills I secured them at A. G. Luken 's drug store and began taking them. I soon felt better and continued to improve steadily until cured.' ' For sale by all dealers. "Uncle JoshSpruceby.' The theater-going public will hail with delight the good news that our old friend, "Uncle Josh Spruceby" is to visit us next Wednesday, coming in fac, to open the New Phillips theater, matinee and night. This company, which has made an exceptionally strong impression wherever it has appeared, has many friends here who will await their coming with interest. The oranization this year is better than ever, all the old favorites being retained and capable new ones added, and now takes rank with the best dramatic companies touring the country. The play is one of those homely New England dramas with a beautiful story running through it. Comedy, pathos and sensation abound. Strict attention has been paid to tietail and a full new set of scenecry has been painted for this season. Undoubtedly a big crowd will attend to welcome "Sally," "Dutehy," "Out (V Sight," the Hay seen Band and "Uncle Josh" himself. No theatrical season is complete without the joys afforded by "Uncle Josh" and his fellow "Reubens." The elegant orchestra so long a feature of this company is still retained and a usual is still a source of delight. "A Little Outcast." Visions of the Orient, with it mysteries and magnificence, are vividly pictured in the second act of "A Little Outcast." where for the tirst time in any prodction a correct view of a typical Chinese restaurant i riven. It is a replica of the world's famous one on Pell street in New York's chinatown. and its beauty is accentuated by the brilliant evening costumes of a party of society leaders who are out "slumming after the theater. It is one of the most fascinating scenes ever presented. The gorgeous hangings with gold embroidered dragons and strange birds, the rich Oriental colorings and the half concealed alcoves for the use of the opium smokers, are accurate representations and furnish a superb setting for some very good acting. This production will be at the New Phillips next Saturday evening. Richmond, Ind., to St. Louis Without Changing Cars Via Pennsylvania Lines. .
