E GATHERING WILL BE A VERY LARGE ONE GREAT ENTHUSIASM Will Prevail and the Opening of the Local Campaign Will Be Auspicious. This evening when the doors of the Coliseum are thrown open for the beginning of the campaign in Wayne County, and when Joseph G. Cannon will deliver an address, it is probable that the meeting will be one of the largest, most enthusiastic gatherings of ardent Republicans ever held in this city. "Uncle Joe" will be a good one to open the campaign, and the choice of him was a Avise one. Mr. Cannon is one of the hardest working Republicans in the country and the Republicans of the county will have a great impetHs added to their ardor by his address. The gathering will,, in all probability, be the largest political affair of the kind held in this state, outside of Indianapolis, in many years. The supposed closeness of the campaign in this state Avhich will be a "battleground" where the war will be waged Avill draw over four thousand people to Richmond, to the Coliseum tonight.. The crowd, will at all events, be the largest ever seen in this county. To aid in rousing the enthusiasm, the drum and bugle corps,Ahich hvae recently been formed to give good service for the local G. O. P. during the present campaign, will be on hand Avith its martial and inspiring airs. The drum corps always adds a great deal to a campaign, and is a strong factor, as much-so as the old "torch liuht parades" of days gone by. The Young Men's Republican Club, another recent organization of enthusiastic Republicans, will be on hand, and from present indications the enthusiasm Avill be unbounded. Everything has been completed in the way of preliminary arrangements, and the outlook has not a cloud. It Saved His Leg. P. A. Danforth of LaGrange, Ga.. suffered for six months Avith a frightful running sore on his leg; but writes that Bucklen's Arnica Salve wholly cured it in five days. For Ulcers, Wounds, Piles, it's the best salve in the world. Cure guaranteed. Only 25 cents. Sold by A. G. Luken & Co., druggists. Working Overtime. Eight hour laws are ignored by those tireless, little workersDr. King's New Life Pills. Millions are always at work, night and day, curiner Indisrestion. Biliousness, Constipa tion, Sick Headache, and all Stomach, Liver and BoAvel troubles. Easy, pleasant, safe, sure. Only 25c at A. G. Luken & Co's drug store. $5.00 to Petoskey September 13, 1904 The G. R. & I. will give its annual excursion to Petoskey, Traverse City, Northport and Mackinac Island on September 13, 1904, for $5.00 for the round trip from all stations Richmond to Fort Wayne inclusive. Tickets are good going on scheduled excursion trains and are good for return until September 23d, 1904. The fare to Mackinac Island is $6. Get full information of any G. R. & I. agent or address C. LXockwood, General Passenger Agent, Grand Rap ids, Mich. C, C. & L. New Schedule Most Favorable to the Richmond People. Under the new schedule there will be through cars to Cincinnati via C, C. & L. direct; also through car service to College Corner, Oxford and Hamilton. The running time of all trains has been greatly reduced. Cincinnati is now reached in two hours and five minutes. The north bound morning train now leaves at 7 a. m. a much more seasonable hour than heretofore. The opening of the campaign occurs tonight at the Coliseum. Speaker Cannon is a fluent speaker,!
