The Yearlv Meeting of Indiana Friends will be held in this city from September 29 to October 4. Last vear the meetimr was held in Marion ehieflv to apnease the Friends of the northern part of the state, those who wanted to divide the meet ing, but at the close of last year s msetiiif it was decided to hold the ession of 1004 at this city, the regu lar meeting place. There has been a discussion for several years as to whether the Yearly Meeting should be leld in Marion or this city, both great Friends' strongholds, and at the comn meeting: it is expected that tin question will be brought up again. There will be quite a lot ot busi ness up before the Yearly Meeting this year. Many appointments of committees and boards are to be made and a ere at deal of other and minor business is to be transacted, so that the session will likely be a busy one. Only a few committees show a mem bership that Avill not be reorganized, lthough it is the custom among the Friends for incumbents to hold ffiee for inanv years. muh longer than among other denominations. Probablv the most important places i Lp filial are those of clerks of the meeting. Local clerks wjiose terms w ill expire are C. A. Francisco, A. M. iobea-ts and Rev. E. 0. Ellis. Of trustees the terms of E. O. ElHs nd Timothy Nicholson will expire, lthough the vacancy caused by tne di smissal of Rev. Ellis has been tilled. As trustees of the Woman's Mis sionary Association the terms of Lucy Binford and Phariba "Stephenson expire, and the Rev. Allen Jay's term as a member of the Bible Institute committee will close. Besides these names mentioned, there are several others, not living in Richmond whose terms will expire. The Yearly Meeting rwill supply three places on the Board of Sutherland College, three on the Permanent Board, and one on the visiting committee of White's Institute. In Praise of Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. "Allow me to give you a few words in praise of Chamberlain's Colic, Choi era and Diarrhoea Remedy," says Mr. John Ilamlett, of" Eagle Pass, Texas. "I suffered one week with bowel trouble and took all kinds of medicine without getting any relief, when my friend, Mr. C. Johnson, a merchant here, advised me to take this remedy. After taking one dose I felt greatly relieved and when I had taken the third dose was entirely cured. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting this great remedy in the hands of mankind." (New Paris Mirror.) Superintendent Oligher, of the Pennsylvania, was in town last Friday in response to a letter from Mayor Hildebrand, in conference with the latter in regard to the speed of trains through the corporation limits. The mayor has received many complaints of late about the high rate of speed of some of the through trains ver the dangerous rossings here. Mr. Oligher promised to do all possible to bring about a compliance with the law, but complained that the limit fixed by the ordinance here is absurdly low, being eight miles an hour. It must be conceded that this is the case and in fairness to the company it would seem that the ordinance ought to be amended. There ought to be no great danger from trains running at fifteen, or even twenty miles an hour, and if the ordinance was reasonable in its requirements very likely the train crews would be more careful to observe it. A letter was received Tuesday by the mayor from Mr. Oligher, stating that instructions had been issued t train crews and that everything possible would be done to secure compliance with the law. $100 Reward, $100.
