There are hundreds of people in this city who are interested in the squirrel crop, which it is said is a good one this season. There are thous ands of people in this city who never see a squirrel, but there are many hunters who hanker after the flesh pots such as only a daintily broiled squirrel can furnish. The Palladium interviewed a squirrel hunter today and he had this to say on the subject:
"The squirrel hunter is meandering through the woods these days, killing
a great deal of time and occasion
ally a squirrel.
"The farmer is also getting busy
with the squirrel crop. He is posting
signs, 'no hunting here," 'no trespass ing here' "and other notices which the man who goes out for game would do
well to heed.
"Some of the farmers have taken
time by the forelock and have their
farms already posted, and so the hunter has to pick his territory cautiousljr. Sometimes a mere sign traced on
a pine shingle in charcoal with rather doubtful characters is not suffici
ent for the average hunter, but when the proposition is backed by a brawny farmer with a shot gun over his
shoulder, it never fails to make the hunter hit the trail for the public
lighway.
"The farmer and the hunter are
seldom on intimate terms at this sea
son of the year, for the former imagines that he is being persecuted be
yond endurance and the latter thinks
the farmer is a tyrant and a pesky
meddler. Hunting is a very risky thing
nowadays and sometimes a very dangerous pastime.
"Those who have trekked the woods
in quest of the frisky animals and have succeeded in dodging the cove-
ous eyes of the farmer say that hunt
ing was never better. And they usually back up this statement with a
s:ood bunch of game. Next month is
the favorite time for squirrel hunting
and there will doubtless be much of
it done in this section."

The Henry brothers, Thomas and Jesse returned from the World's
Fair on Wednesday evening of last
week, the extennt of which even
amazed their wildest imagination.
Mr. and Mrs. Sommers and bady
of Straughns were guests of Mrs Charley King one day last week.
Rev. Walters filled his regular ap
pointment at the M. E. church Sun day morning and evening.
Dr. McKee was the lueky guesser, who with a ticket for 15 cents drew a buggy that was put on the mar
ket by M. Garthwaite, drawn on
Tuesday of last week.
The teachers of Dublin are about all attending Teachers' Institute at
Richmond this week.
The forty sixth Jackson township
Sunday school Institute met in the
M. E. church of Dublin Sunday af
ternoon, Aug. 28, with quite a fine number of Sunday school workers
from all over the township present. The program was gone through with The music was well selected and ren
dered in like mannenr, led by Dr. McKee. The session lasted over two hourus, but good order and attention prevailed to its close. Its president,
Rev. Aaron Shadier showed zeal in Sunday school work is ever present.
The infant child of Mr. and Mrs.
Jesse Hall is very sick with cholera
infantum. George Chmape of Toledo, Ohio, made a hasty run to Dublin Saturday to visit parents and friends, returning Sunday. Lewis Letner had quite a hard spell of sickness last week, but has rallied again. Mrs. John Cranor is packing her goods to move to Indianapolis and live with one of her sisters. If anyone wishes to see a large family relationship they should attend the Huddleston family reunion at Jackson Park Saturday. If the whole fraternity could be got together from every point the enumber would go high into the thousands. But few were aware of the fact that Prof. J. C. Mills, superintendent of the Dublin schools had any intention nof resigning, but such has been
the fact and in his stead J. E. Ewers of Milton has in a short nontice been chosen to fill his place. The Dublin school is now reorganized as follows: Prof. J. E. Ewers, Supt., Mrs. Mary Stewart, first principal of high school; Mr. H. Gaar of Cambridge City, assistant; Miss Julia Stant, intermediate; Miss Elizabeth Morris, second primary, Miss Lora Henley, first primary. The superintendent. Prof. Garr and Miss Stant have been secured for the coming term. Rev. Geo. E. Floyd has been returned to the Dublin charge by the late North Grove Conference to the satisfaction of his membership here. It touches a very sensitive tissue of our nature to know that the bakers have either lessened the size of the loaf of bread or raised the price owing to the great rise in price of flour
of late. The East Main Street U. B. Sunday school had a very pleasant picnic at Miller's grove, some four or five miles north on Thursday last. Tomatoes are now ripening very fast and it looks as if the canneries were going to have all they can attend to to get away with the crop. The quality is the best ever raised. William McMahan and daughter Cora have gone to St. Mary's, 111., on a monnth's visit. Sick Headache. ''For several years my wife was troubled with what physicians called sick headache of a very severe character. She doctored with several eminent physicians and at a great expense, only to grow worse until she was unable to do any kind of work. About a year ago she began taking Chamberlain's Stomach, and Liver Tablets and today weighs more than she ever did before and is real well," says Mr. Geo. E. Wrht of New London, New York. For sale by A. G. Luken & Co., and W. H. Sudhoff, Fifth and Main streets.

Liquid Cream Balm is becoming quite as popular in many localities as Ely's Cream Balm solid. It is prepared for use in atomizers, and is highly prized by those who have been accustomed to call upon physicians for such a treatment. Many physicians are using and prescribing it.
