INSTITUTE
TEACHERS AFFAIR CONNECTED WITH CHAUTAUQUA BENEFITS OF THIS Will Enable Teachers to Hear Finer Lectures Institute to be Very Fine. In connection with the Richmond Chautauqua, which opens Friday of this week, will be held this year the annual Institute of the Wayne County Teachers Association. Heretofore this institute has always been, held as a separate affair, apart from everything else, but this year for the first time it has been decided to hold it in connection with the larger affair. The connection which the teachers institute will have with the Chautauqua is itswider program and wider field will be very advantageous to the attend the institute, receiving p:iy therefor in that it will combine the two affairs, and give the teachers the benefit of both. Thus the teachers will have the advantage of hearing lectures and educational experts whom they otherwise v. ould uot, as there are only three lectui-ors in connection with the inst'i '.'te : roper. The teachers anticipate tho institute and Chrp.fau."v,:i with a good deal of pleasure, as ' !ure is much pi'ofit to be gained. All tiie teach ers will be given ser'on tick:.t to every number on thy program although the Teachers Institute will only be held from Ar.ji-i 23 to Peproniber 2. During the five dajs of the institute the teachers will be required to attend eighteen lectures to be entitled to full credit for attending the institute. The three speakers for the institute, State Superintendent Bonebrake, Mr. Speed and Mr. S. S. Schaeffer, will address the teachers on each of the five davs at nine, ten and eleven a. m. respectively. On Sept. 29, Col. G. "W. Bain will deliver lectures at 2 and 8 p. m. and the teachers will attend these. On the 31st at 2 p. m. Supt. Bonebrake will give a talk and on Sept 2, Rev. G. R. Stewart gives an address. At three p. m. Sept. 2nd, the business meeting of the teachers institute will be held. Healthy, happy babies. Henry Hoover has been disabled for nearly five weeks with- shingles. Mrs. Henry Hittle has been ill for three weeks; she is now better. Mrs. Jane Shank is ill. Mrs. Drury, of New Boston, 111., is visiting her relatives here. A niece Miss Lewis, from Aledo, 111., accompanies her. Miss Bessie Johnson, daughter of Mayor Johnson, has signed with Charles Frohman to take a part in the forthcoming production oP'Brother Jack" in which Annie Russell will star this season.
