THREE BOYS TAKE 180 MILE TRAHP
AND HAVE MANY ADVENTURES ALONG THE WAY SLEEPING QUARTERS Proved to Be the Greatest ProblemFour Changes in One Night Made "for Reasons." Three Richmond boys Grover Miller, Will Iieller and Rey Newman have just returned from St. Louis, after a trip which, although unique and exciting, was one that, on account of the attendant hardships, would not be eagerly undertaken by many boys, to say the least. The three boys 'filled wfth a desire to see the Fair and to see it cheaply, one of the boys had tried the "peddling on installment plan" dodge but the work was too hard for the money received. They 'finally decided to "hoof" it and . took train to Terre Haute. This was not done because their money would take them no further, but merely that their enthusiasm would stick a little more than the first ten miles. They averaged th'A-ty miles for six days, the distance from Terre Haute to St. Louis being about one hundred and eighty miles, and the experiences which fell to their lot would fill several columns. Their greatest trials came at night, when the question of where to sleep was the burning one. Everything that would serve as a berth for the night wTas pressed 'Alto commission, and haystacks, barns, etc., along the way will recall how three boys trudged into them about 11 o'clock, at night for a short sleep. As a rule the problem of getting sleeping accommodations was easily solved and on only one night was the sky their covering. But it became necessary for various reasons on some nights to change sleep'Aig quarters with silence and stealth and expedidition, one night the boys having four different berths. Mark Twain once said, in speaking of stealing chickens, "while you may not get the b'A-d there are many other articles of value laying around loose that you may get. I came away from a chicken raid one night with a nice steel trap, worth ninety cents" the anecdote illustrated with a cut of Mark tearing for dear life with an enraged farmer after b'tn, Mark carrying the trap caught fast to h'As hand. Luckily the three boys did not get any traps. They paid for their meals as they went along "and got along well with the farmers along the route. Preparations for a trip of one hundred and eighty miles on foot, as given by one of the boys: "Take large shoes, plenty of talcum powder and money." The boys were as tired and footsore as could be when they arrived at St. Louis. P. S. They came back on the train. No Substitute Offered Say what you wSl about-druggists offering something "just as good" because it pays better profit, the fact still stands that ninety-nine out of a hundred druggists recommend Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy when the best remedy for diarrhoea is asked for, and do so because they know it is the one remedy that can always be depended upon, even in the most severe and dangerous cases. Sold by A. G. Luken & Co., and W. H. Sudhoff, Fifth and Main streets. Escaped an Awful Fate. Mr. H. Higgins, of Melbourne, Fla., writes: "My doctor told me I had consumption and nothing could be done for me. I was given up to die. The offer of a free trial bottle of Dr. King's New Discovery for consumption, induced me to try it. Results were startling. I am now on the road to recovery. It surely saved my life." This great cure & guaranteed for all throat and lung diseases by A. G. Luken & Co., druggists. Price 50c and $1.00. Trial bottles free. Mrs. Hiram Sanderson, JanesVflle,Our baby was never strong; our physician advised Hollfeter's Rocky Mountain Tea. One package made her strong, rosy and heajthy. Thanks to your Tea. A. G. Luken & Co.
Promised Scarcity of Coal. Pittsburg, Aug. 2. Pittsburg's great bituminous coal producing interests are preparing secretly for a strike in the anthracite coal region. In certain circles the tip has been given that soft coal will be a good commodity to have in a short time, with the information that there will be an upward spurt in prices and that there is danger of a scarcity because the anthracite operators, it is believed, are preparing for a long shut-down.

kN. i t. -SJ e Miss Whittaker. a prominent club woman of Savannah, Ga., tells how she was entirely cured of ovarian troubles by the use of LydiaE. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. Dear Mrs. Ptxkham: I heartily recommend Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound as a Uterine Tonic and Regulator. I suffered for four years with irregularities and Uterine troubles. No one but those who have experienced this dreadful agony can form any idea of the physical and mental misery those endure who are thus afflicted. Your Vegetable Compound cured me within three months. I was fully restored to health and strength, and now my periods are regular and painless. What a blessing it is to be able to obtain such a remedy when so many doctors fail to help vou. Lydia lif. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound is better than any doctor or medicine I ever had.
