Special low rates have been arranged for on all railroads. Howe Military School. The Howe Military School is one of the oldest and most successful schools for boys in this vicinity. It is so conveniently located with reference to Fort Wayne that our citizens ought to appreciate its advantages. The school is well endowed and h'as a superior equipment. The numbers are strictly limited to one hundred boys in the upper school, and thirty in the lower school, so that each boy is assured of careful and personal attention. The number of applicants however each year exceeds this number so that a selection can be made and only boys of good character and rhtellectual promise admitted. The high standing of scholarship is respected in universitiy and college circles and wherever students are ad mitted by certificate the Howe school certificate is accepted. Not long since a gentleman of this State wrote to Harvard 'Aiquiring for a preparatory school in the Last where his son could prepare for that university. The dean wrote him it was not necessary to come East as the Howe school in his own State was successfully preparing candidates for Harvard. The school points with pride to the record of its students in college not only in Harvard, but in other great universities of the coun try. The location of the school is ideal It is entirely removed from city in fluences and is a community within itself with everything provided that makes country and school life pleas ant and profitable. Mrs. Sidney C. Love is Given Decree of Absolute Divorce. Chfcago, Aug 2. Mrs. Minnie C. Love was given a decree of absolute divorce from Sidney C. Love by Judge Honore, with "$50,000 alimony, $25,000 of which was paid in court. The rest is to be paid in the next three years in annual installments. The ground for divorce set forth by Mrs. Love were cruelty and desertion. In addition to the alimony Mrs. Love was allowed $4,900 to cover her expenses since separation from Mr. Love and $2,000 to cover lawyer's fees. The Loves were married in October, 1S9S. The bride was formerlv Miss
Minnie Cool of Fairbault, Minn. At the time of her marriage to Mr. Love she was the widow of a wealthy Phila delphian. The couple separated 'in August 1903. Sidney C. Love has been in the brokerage business in Chi cago since 189S. Germantown, O., Prepares for Fete in Honor of Notable Anniversary. Germantown, O., Aug. 2. Great preparations are being made here for the centennial celebration of the Twin Valley, which will be held at Germantown August 3, 4 and 5. The programme Wjl open with a salute of 100 guns, folloAved with reception of visitors by committees and an industrial parade, which will be participated in by business men and civic organizations, schools and churches. In the afternoon the address of welcome will be delivered by Mayor L. S. Crickmore, with response by Frank Snyder of Portland, Ind. Tuesday's program will include speeches by former Germantown men who have won laurels in otherfields with music by Weber's Band, of Cincinnati. Friday the corner stone of Miami Mil'Aary Institute will be laid by Grand Master of Ohio and staff officers, under the auspices of the local Masonic lodge. An art and relic exhibition depicting the past history of the Twin Valley will be one of the features of the centennial. 400 IN ONE YEAR High Bate of Mortality in Dayton Soldiers' Home. Dayton, O., Aug. 2. The annual report for the Soldiers' Home, for the year ending July shows that during the past twelve months, 481 deaths have been recorded at the home, the number of residents being rated at 6911. Thomas, the successful and popular young business man of Bethel, Ind'Aina, and Lena Simpson, the handsome daughter of Billy Simpson of Whitewater, Indiana, stole a march on their friends and were quietly married at Bradford, O., on last Saturday a week ago. They are both very popular young people and have the best wishes of their many friends.
