FOR ASSISTANCE IN ARRESTINO WILLIAM REIKER CHASED 2,500 MILES Search Covered Fifteen Months, But The Reward Came in the End. In speaking of the arrest of Mr. Rieker here the other day, the Dayton Press says: Ab the result of a search which has been earried on unceasingly for over fifteen months, Magistrate Harry M. Altie yesterday afternoon, at Rich mond, Ind., arrested William Kieker, who is wanted in this city on a number of charges, and specifically for burglarizing his residence, in com pany witht he Gunkle brothers, John and Clarenee. The chase has taken Mr. Altic over 2,500 miles, and has cost him considerable money, but his determination to land the men be hind the bars was successful. ('lew after clew had been run down but finally Rieker was located in Richmond working on a church repairing a chimney. lie offered no resistence and only said "Well I have given you a long chase haven't I?" The man was returned to this city and placed in the county jail to await the action of the grand jury which has indicted the other two men on the same charge. Mr. Altic was accompanied to Richmond by Winter Etter, a young man who resides near Altic 's home and who was acquainted with Rieker. Detective Billy Gugel has assisted materially in the search for the man, and night after night has spent the time in company with Mr. Altic on some lonely road, running down some clew, onlv to find that thev had been mislead. However, the untiring efforts of the little detective and Magistrate Altie have been rewarded, and justice will now be dealt out to the offenders. The crime for which the man is wanted was the burglarizing of Mr. Altic 's residence at Fairview on the night of April 9, 1003. Three shots were fired at Mr. Altic, and he had a narrow escape from being killed. The work of the magistrate and Gugel is deserving of great credit. Rieker had confederates at every turn to help him. He was living with a family in a small cabin four miles from Richmond. Much appreciation is felt by Mr. Altic for the manner in which the police department of Richmond assisted him in the search. Safeguard the Children. Notwithstanding all that is done by boards of health and charitably inclined persons, the death rate among small children is very high during the hot weather of the summer months in the large cities. There is not probably one case of bowel complaint in a hundred, however, that could not be cured by the timely use of Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. Mr. Frank Riggs, of Franklinville, N. Y., in speaking of this remedy said: "I have found it expedient to have a supply of Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy on hand. It has been a family safeguard and while especially beneficial to children, it is equally good in adult cases. I recommend it cheerfully and without reservation." For sale by A. (J.
