FOR SWIMMERS ICE POND WILL BE FITTED UP BY E. K. SHERA A SWIMMING POOL Resort Will be Opened Next Monday Many Improvements to be Made. Within another week the people of Richmond, men, women and children, will have an uR-to-date swimming pool, which, if it has not marble shower baths, elegant dressing rooms, etc., has at least the advantage of being out of doors. Nor will the dressing rooms be laking in any sense, although they will not be marvels of excellence. The double pond aiout five hundred feet north of the Glen Lake, known as the "ice pond" will be transformed into a swimming pool by Mr. E. K. Shera. The bottom will be dredged, all the rve."l and th few posts now in it taken out, and the mud removed from the bottom so as to make a hrad, sniootk, level. The two ponds, which now are separate, will both be cleaned and arranged so that if wanted they may both be made to form a sinule lake of good sizel proportions. Mr. Shera said this morning that fine spring-boards would be placed in the banks and that everything possible would be done for he accommodation of the patrons of the pool. Two good sized buildings on the banks of the lakes will be fitted up in good style anil used as dressing rooms, for men a-nd women respective ly. They will hare many modern appliances and everything will be fitted up in a thorough manner. Mr. Shera said this morning to The Palladium, "The swimming pool will be ready for use by Monday probably and lry Tuesday at the lat est, i nothing intervenes. "Tomorrow j we win nave iioiwn ami dredges oir and everything wfl be cleared up, the bottom scraped, the dressing rooms nted up, elc. The juice for tiie season will be $1.00 per person and th season tickers will be good all tfiis year. We hope t wake a paying investment, and if tine pool proves popular enough to warrant it, we intend to do tkin on a more elaborate scale next yer. The rules will be simple, just thee 'There shall be no swearing or profane language spoken on the grounds. Xo blackguardism or other aets will be tolerated for an instant. Behave yourselves.' The resort will not be a cheap affair, nothing of the sort, but we hope to gain the patronage of a number of Iiichmnnd people."

A large number will join the swim-j end ten cents m stamps for Kusming pool association and this year so-Japanese War Atlas issued by the

at least, it will not prove losing J venture. Richmond has long needed something of this kind, and main complaints have been registered on account of the lack of it. This will be a great boon for a large number of the local people.
