GRADUATION

Of Two Classes Marjorie Curme Chosen Valedictorian. A feature of the Children's Day exercises at the First M. E. church was the graduation of two classes, one from the cradle roll to the primary department and one from the primary department to the regular Sabbath school. Miss Marjorie Curme was chosen as valedictorian for the larger class and the following is the address taken verbatim: I have been a member of the Frst M. E. Suuday school for many years and am about to be promoted to the intermediate department. I and my companions who are soon going to graduate will think how much good it has done us to go to our dear Sunday school. All mv teachers, especi ally Mrs. I'unyan.lmve been very good to me and I think have led me a lit-! tie way toward God. You know how hard it is to walk up the steep and narrow path and am sine T coidd not have gotten up even a little way if my dear teachers and my dear parents and especially dear God, had not helped me and lifted me up as far as I am. There is always a place for thechildren in the Sunday school. The Cradle Roll takes in the tiny ones too young to read, but they are taught the Golden Text and many other nice things. Then comes the older ones and they take their places in the bigger classes and these go on like thew were climb ing verv slowlv up a ladder. The First M. E. church has many nice monthly entertainments in which I and mv companions take part for people like to hear young folks say nice pieces and sing nice songs. Sometimes in summer, mostly when they have entertainments, the teachers fix up some nice refreshments and then seVve them out to the other people after the entertainment. I wish that the many children who do not attend Sunday school could know about Gol and could come to Suuday school for T am sure they would be interested in it. Miss Curme is the nine-year-old daughter of A. A. Curme, Jr., and she composed the above without any assistance or corrections from any one. Will Be Wont by Pennsylvania EngineersNotes. Hereafter, as soon as the order g.-cs into effect, the engineers on the Pennsylvania lines west of Pittsburg will wear a uniform. It will be of canvas cloth, of a pepper and salt effect, and warranted strong and durable. A blue stripe will extend down the outside seam of the trousers, a military blouse will be worn, and on the collar will be em- 1 broidered a keystone symbol of the Panhandle. The uniforms will not be worn under compulsion, as a result of the fight that the engineers put up not long ago against uniforms, but it is expected that when they see what excellent uniforms are provided, all engineers will wear them. Yesterday was blue day for train schedules. After a month of good running on time, nearly all the trains were late in the mornin, and the delays played hob with connections. No. 21, from New York, was three hours late: No. 33, from Columbus, thirty minutes, and No. 301, from Snrin-field. twentv-five minutes. No 30. from Transport, was a hour late and all the other trains, save the G., R. & I., were late several minutes. Cures croup, sore throat, pulmonary troubles Monarch over pain of every sort.
