Nebraska Democrats Indorse Him and His Old Platform. Omaha, June 2. The Nebraska state Democratic convention selected Win. J. Bryan to lead its delegation to the national convention, and in no uncertain terras Indorsed both the Kansas City platform and the candidate which steed upon it. The first paragraph of tlio state platform reads as follows: "We, the Democrats of the state of Nel raska, In convention assembled, roafilrrn our faith in Democratic principles as those principles were set forth in the last national platform of the party, adopted at Kansas City in 1900." The following resolution was unanimously adopted: "The Democracy of Nebraska heralds to the Democracy of the nation its steadfast respect for, confidence In, and loyalty to Nebraska's champion of pure Democratic principles, and bids him Godspeed in his splendid efforts to prevent the national organization from falling under the baneful control of the enemies of the real Democracy." Anti-Hearst Element Prevailed. Detroit, Mich., June 2. The antiHearst element in the Michigan Democracy, headed by Daniel J. Campau of Detroit, national committeeman from this state, triumphed over the Hearst supporters at every stage in the Democratic state convention held here to select delegates to the national convention, and an uni.istructed delegation will be sent to the convention. Bryan Won i:i Oklahoma. Anadarko, Okla., June 2. The Bryan wing of the Oklahoma Democracy dominated the convention held to elect delegates to the St. Louis convention, and the delegates were instructed "to act in conjunction with those who supported the party in the last two presidential elections," the vote on these instructions being almost unanimous. Hearst Has Hopes in Wyoming. Cheyenne. Wyo., June 2. It is considered practically certain that the Wyoming delegation to the national Democratic convention will be instructed for Hearst by the state convention, which met this afternoon. By a Bare Majority. Atlanta, Ga., June 2. By a vote of lCGU to ii7 the Georgia Democratic convention instructed its delegates to the national convention to vote for the nomination of Judge Alton B. Louis Leckenby, aged thirty-two years, was shot and killed last night by Charles Hrencher at the latter's home in this city. When Hrencher reached his home he heard the screams of his wife, who was being choked by Leckenby, because she refused to tell him where she had concealed $1,200 which she recently received from an estate. The two men engaged in a fight and Hrencher says he was forced to shoot Leckenby in self-defense. A Wise City Council. Cleveland, O., June 2. The city council has passed an ordinance making It a misdemeanor to use, give away or sell a toy pistol or blank cartridge In this city on the Fourth of July. The ordinance is the result of recent action taken by the academy of medicine which showed that a number of persons died from tetanus last year 1 following the celebration of the na lion's anniversary.
