SWEET PEA
A Word About Its Cultivation and Growth. This beaatiful flower is su universally popular that I want to say a few words to the children about its culli vation. I have seen the plants struggling for existence under the shade of .a tree, or on the north side of a house, and have felt sorry, for the misdirected efforts of Hie children. The two things most ossciiti-al to success with sweet peas are an abundance of sunshine and water. They
love a rich moist soil, but can be grown where the soil is -iot so good. Dig up the ground and thoroughly pulverize it. Make a trench six or eight inches deep, plant your seed and cover wit an inch of earth, pressing it down lightly. When the plants are two or three inches high rill m another inch, repeating the process as they grow, lor-ving f.t the last a smail trench to retain the moisture. This deep sowing permits the roots to gee a firm hold and retain the moisture daring iLe summer, tin watering them apply the water tu the loots, and use the soap suds from washday f r the same purpose, as it
contains potash. Keep the surface dirt loose, and as soon as the little len Irils appear they roust have support.' Cut the flowers every day for if seed pods are allowed to form the plant ceases to bloom. Last year I had splet;did success planting in this way. but contrary to the advico usually given I planted the
seed very thick, using a pound to twenty-four feet. I triad the ex
periment of using seed from differ
ent firms. Hendersons, Vieks, Burpees, also from three different , groceries, and I failed to see tLe superiority of th expensive seen; but they were all fine, grown under the same conditions, and yielded a profusion of bloom during the entire season. R. E. R'.-

to dream rhat a divorce will help them to happiness, it is time to look into their own hearts.. Why won't men and women know that when life is unsatisfactory it is God they need, not divorce. More than that. Can God's blessings rest upon a couple who utterly disregard His laws? Ah, no! Satan desires to bind you. God's word is Truth. Hear ye Him. Mark, Chapter 10, 212. And the Pharisees came to Him; anl asked Him, saying: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife ? tempting Him. And He answered and said unto them, What did Moses command vou? And thej' said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement and to put her away, and Jesus said For the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation God mde them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife; and they twain shall be one
flesh, so then, they are no more twain, but one flesh. i -TH

VALUABLE SEATS. In Paris Bourse Cost $600,000 Each, But Bring in a Fortune.
(Chicago Chronicle.)
A seat among the 70 of the Paris
Bourse (they call it a charge) costs
about 3,000,000 francs ($600,000), or
sometimes 2,500,000, and a charge
earns from 5 to 15 per cent (net) a
year, so that the annual profits are
from $30,000 to $90,000, or more in
exceptional years. But these are usu
ally divided among several associa
tes, for it rarely happens that an
agent is the sole owner of his seat. More often he has paid for only half
of it or a third of it and has three or four silent partners who own the rest and who may again have subpartners,
so that you will hear of a sixteenth of a seat or even a thirty-second, these being simply investments that carry no rights or privileges on the Bourse. As to procuring a charge, the thing has none of the Stoek Exchange simplicity, where the main requirements for getting a seat is to be able to pay for it. Here a candidate must be a
Frenchman and at the same time 21 years old. He must have served four years in certain forms of business. He must be personally acceptable to the agent, and often to his family, including the ladies. He must be passed upon by the 70 with formal voting, as if he were joining some select club, which he is. There must be no stain on his business record and no slur on his personal character. A candidate was rejected recently for his bad habits and another for no fault of his own, but because his brother had been concerned in questionable transactions. Wifh sill Ihis favorably settled, (here is still needed the approval of the Minister of Finances and the sanction of the President. This makes it clear enough why many of the ablest dealers on the Bourse have not been members of the parquet, but of the coulisse. They could not get into the parquet.
Hundreds of People Declare in Favor of Paw Paw
It Soothes the Nerves It Rests the Nerves It Feeds the Nerves It Enables One to Sleep It Is Nature's Own Remedy
I don't believe, says Prof. Munyon, that a better remedy for the blood and liver was ever compounded. I have seen sluggish livers that have refused to act under the usual treatments respond in a most marvelous way to the use of Paw Paw. Paw Paw seems to digest everything it touches, hence it makes good, rich blood, which in turn strengthens and vitalizes the whole nervous system. I want all persons who suffer with dyspepsia or nervous trouble to cast away all other remedies and to give Paw Paw a fair trial. I want every weak and debilitated person to get a bottle cf Paw Paw at once and take it according to directions. I know it will make old folks feel young and weak folks feel strong. I want all persons who feel they ate in need of a tonic to drop the use of alcoholic drinks of all kinds and take Paw Paw in its place. People don't crave for stimulants when the stomach and nerves are in a healthful condition. Munyon's Paw Paw gives exhilaration without intoxication. Munvon's Paw Paw (large bottles), price $1. .Paw Paw Laxative Pills 25c. per box. At all druggists.
