Beautiful Miss Gallatin. Alberta Gallatin's great success as a star in Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece, "Ghosts," only emphasizes the fact that a beautiful -woman of intelligence, grace and refinement, determined to succeed, may accomplish wonders by hard work and industry. Only a few years ago Miss Gallatin was more than satisfied to play a small part at a nominal salary. Now, however, she is reaping a handsome profit at the head of her own company and has created such a favorable impression that dramatists are literally overwhelming her with manuscripts of new -plays. Miss Gallatin will be seen here at the Gennett theater tonight. Miss Marie "Wainwright, who is to appear here soon in Shakespeare's amusing "Twelfth Night," filled Wallack's theater in New York with large and admiring audiences for 600 successive performances. That she has played all leading female roles in Shakespearean plays to those greatest of the bard's interpreters, Booth, Barrett, Salvinia and McCullough, is all the guarantee the stage-lovers of this city require to feel that she will render the part of Orsino's sweet heart page in the most perfect man ner. An early date for her appearanance here is now being arranged. It has frequently occurred that after the 'departure of a really fine attraction at the Gennett theater those of its patrons who failed to attend have expressed their regrets that they "did not know it was so good." That this may not be said after the departure of Mr. Robert B. Mantell and Miss Marie Booth Russell, who come next Saturday, matinee and night, we will say to those who have been waiting for something good they will make no mistake in seeing Mr. Mantell in his new play, "The Light of Other Days," of which the New York Herald says : "The play is interesting and made more so by Mr. Mantell 's acting. There is action to spare in the play and it unquestionabl pleased the large audience. Mr. Mantell gave an excellent example of reserved and thoughtful acting. Miss Marie Booth Russell was charming." - The attraction at the Phillips opera house will be J. II. Barnes' "Dainty Paree Burlesquers," who are said to be among the best entertainers in this particular field of amusement on the road. They have won distinction in other cities and Manager Murray7 believes that the success achieved elsewhere will be duplicated here. The program to be presented is full of novel and original features. In the olio are Miss Flossie LaVan and a few songs; Rich and "Wilbur, singing, talking and .dancing act; sisters "Ward, vocalists; Mr. Sam Green in a few stories and parodies, and the favorite Irish comedians, Honan and Kearney; and Thos. Breen, sillyutionist, assisted by Miss Carroll and Master Johnnie Breen in an uproarious comedy act. The burlesnno. "A Nieht at the Hotel "Walgroiurh." and "The Wrong Mr. Corbett," introduces the entire company, which includes twenty-five young and pretty girls. At the Phillips "Wednesday, March 28th.
