HILL INVESTIGATE
House Going Into Bristow Report So Far as It Concerns Members. A REMARKABLE SCENE Accusation and Vituperative Denunciation Marked the Progress of the Discussion. Executive Department Condemned Amid Scenes of Wildest Exi citemeiit. Washington, March 12. The house of representatives Indulged itself yesterday in nearly seven hours of explanation, accusation and vituperative denunciation, and then ordered, with only two negative votes, an investigation of postal affairs, so far as members of the house are concerned, by a special committee of seven members to be appointed by the speaker, who likewise are to examine into the CHAIRMAN JESSE OVERSTREET. Of the committee on posts and post roads. origin of the Bristow report so far as it concerns members of the house. The demand of the minority for a sweeping investigation of every branch of the postoffice department was not granted. The test on this question came on a vote which resulted 144 to 125, a strict party vote. The climax of the day was reached when Representative William Alden Smith, of Michigan, condemned every executive department of the government for its arrogant treatment of the only branch of the government In direct touch with the people of the country the house of representatives and shouted out the name of Speaker Cannon for president of the United States. The house thundered its acquiescence, members rose to their feet and fairly shrieked tneir assent; Democrats waved whatever was in their hands, Republicans pounded their desks and the packed galleries took up the enthusiasm and echoed the applause. When the speaker bent low over his desk and wielded his gavel vigorously for order his raps only served as an impetus for a fresh outbreak of enthusiasm. Meanwhile Mr. Smith's time ran out, and when he endeavored to continue, in opposition to the ruling of the speaker, he was urged on by the cries of members on both sides but without avail. The parliamentary struggle between the Republicans and Democrats came late in the day. The recommendation of the committee that the Hay resolution lay on the table was brushed aside unanimously. The Democratic demand for a full investigation finally came to a vote In the shape of an appeal from the decision of the chair and was defeated, 144 to 125, a strict party vote. A resolution for an investigation of the connection of members with the department, offered by Representative McCall, of Massachusetts, then was agreed to, only Representatives Lind (Dem., Minn.) and Gillespie (Dem., Tex.) opposing it. TROOPS ORDERED OUT Colombian Government Threatened With Another Revolution. Panama, March 12. The Internal situation in the Colombian department of Cauca has in no way improved, and would appear to be approaching a crisis. The election to the presidency of Colombia of Gen. Rafael Reyes is declared in some quarters to be the only thing that can possibly prevent a movement for Cauca to secede from the United States of Colombia, and if Joaquin Velez Is elected instead of Reyes, it is asserted that a revolution surely will break out. The Bogota government la fully aware of the situation in Cauca and has ordered troops from Cartagen and Barranquilla to proceed by land to Quibdo, a large town In Cauca. To Proceed Against Mob. Columbus, O., March 12. Gov. Herrlck had a conference with Attorney General Wade H. Ellis andState Fire Marshal Hollenbeck regarding the Springfield riot and as a result strenuous efforts will be mado to ferret out and punish the leaders of the mob which lynched the negro Dixon and the men who fired the buildings in the negro quarter of the city. "The good name of the state must be protected." said Gov. Ilerrick.
DROPSY TREATED FREE
$3.75 Worth of New Treatment Will Be Sent Free by the WeilKnown Specialist Franklin Miles, M. D., LL. B. At first no disease is apparently more harmless than dropsy, a little pulling of the eyelids or hands or a slight swelling of the feet, ankles or abdomen. Yet no death is more fearful. The unfortunate patient slowly drowns in the water of his own blood. Dr. Miles has made a specialty of diseases of the heart, liver, kidneys, nerves and dropsy for 25 years. To introduce his Grand Dropsy Treatment he will give away $1000 worth. Hundreds of testimonials of the most remarkable cures will be sent on request. One gentleman was cured after having been given up by ten Grand Rapids physicians; a lady after six able Chicago doctors pronounced her case hopeless. Mr. R. Trimmer of Green Spring, Pa., writes: "Your Special Treatment cured Mrs. T. of serious heart disease and dropsy after many physicians had pronounced her case hopeless.' Mr. II. A. Groce, of 504 Mountain St., Elgin, 111., aged 72, was thought to be incurable. The dropsy reached to his lungs and caused smothering spells, cough, shortness of breath. He reports: "Dropsy all gone; better every way." Mrs. M. B. Morlan, of Rogers, O., says: "Dr. Miles saved my life by curing me of that awful disease, dropsy and heart trouble; I suffered terribly." Miss Sophia " Snowberg, of Xo. 292 21st Ave., Minneapolis, testifies: "Three days after commencing Treatment for dropsy it was nearly all gone, after two allopathic and two homeopathic physicians had failed. Mr. A. P. Colburn, of Blessing, la., writes: "Dr. Miles' Treatment has performed a miracle for Mrs. C. after her leg burst from dropsy. ' ' Dr. Miles' Treatment is much superior to any others and is especially prepared for each patient. Every afflicted person should send for this marvelous Treatment; $3.75 worth sent free upon request. Address Dr. Franklin Miles, Grand. Hughes, of DuPont, Ga., "and gave me up. Everjbody thought my time had come. As a last resort I tried Dr. King's New Discovery for Consumption. Interest in Gregg Casa. Crawfordsville, Ind., March 12. The Gregg damage case will get to the Jury late this evening. Judge West allowed the attorneys full latitude in their arguments, and all of them have made the most of it. The argument has continued since Tuesday morning. There is considerable betting now as to the result. It now seems certain that if the jury disagreees the defense will take a change of venue from the county before another trial. Couldn't Give Bond, rortland, Ind., March 12. Robert J.
