The Pennsylvania management lias appropriated $100,00 for the purpose of installing and operating the locomotive testing plant at the St. Louis exposition. The result of the tests will be arranged by the eorandttee and will be published in lxok i?rm. thereby insuring a volume of great scientific and engineering value.. It is announced that $20,000,000 will be spent in improvements on the Pennsylvania linos west of Pittsburg the present year. This money was raised when the Pennsylvania company borrowed $50,000,000 on notes a few weeks ago. During the season much work will be done in the extension of double tracks on the Panhandle between Columbus and Indianapolis, and Columbus and Chicago. A large mileage of the Pittsburg, Fort Wayne & Chicago is already double-tracked, and most cf the improvements to be made this year will be on the Panhandle. MARDI GRAS EXCURSIONS To New Orleans, Mobile and Pensacola via Pennsylvania Lines. February 9th to 15th, inclusive, excursion tickets to New Orleans, La., Mobile, Ala., and Pensacola, Fla., will be sold via Pennsylvania lines.
