MRS. CARRIE P. HAXNAFORD. Ncv: Life and Strength Came to Her. A Massachusetts -woman, Mrs. CARRIE P. II ANNAFORD, of No. 6? Hale St., everly, Mass., who is wellknown socially there, being Treasurer of the Order of the EASTERN STAR, wrote her experience as follows: " Your ' Favorite Prescription is, without a doubt, the finest remedy on the market to-day, for female difficulties. I suffered for four years with pains every period, and I dreaded the approach of the time as I knew it meant two or three days' misery. Tried several different widely-advertised remedies, and found that they did me no good whatever. One day a friend called, who had Buffered as I was suffering, and who told me that she had been cured through the use of Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription, so I purchased a package. I found that the real value of your medicine was greater even than my expectations, and the next month I had hardly any pains. The following month had none at all, and found that my general health was much better and new life and strength had come to me. "These are the actual facts, and I feel that it is due you that I should write you. Sincerely yours, Mrs. Carrie P. Hannaford." To Hon. R. V. Pierce, M. D.
Young women or matrons should not allow
themselves to look sallow and wrinkled because of those pains and weaknesses which become chronic and are the result of colds, tight lacing, and imprudent care of the womanly system. Many a woman would look beautiful, have a health- color and bright eyes if it were not for those drains on her strength and those weaknesses which come all too frequently and make her life miserable. There is a ready-to-use Prescription, used a great many years by Dr. R. V.
Pierce in his large practice as a Specialist in women's diseases, which is not like the many "patent medicines" on the market, as it contains neither alcohol nor any narcotic. It is purely vegetable. , NI)r. Pierce's Favorite Prescription establishes regularity, dries weakening drains, heals inflammation and ulceration, and cures female weak-

sleeplessness and other consequences of womanly disease. "Favorite Prescription" makes weak women strong, sick women well. Accept no substitute for the medicine which works wonders for weak women.
FOR WOflEN
WHO CANNOT BE CURED. B . ked up by over a third of a century of remarkable and uniform cures, a record such as no other remedy for the diseases and weaknesses peculiar to women ever attained, the proprietors and makers of Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription now feel fully warranted in offering to pav 500 in legal money of the United States, for any case of Leucorrhea, Female Weakness, Prolapsus, or Falling of Womb which they can not cure. All they ask is a fair and reasonable trial of their means of cure. Their financial responsibility is well known to every newspaper publisher and druggist in the United States, with most of whom they have done business for over a third of a century. From this fact it will readily be seen how utterly foolish it would be for them to make the above unprecedented and remarkable offer if they were not basing their offer on curative means having an unparalleled record. No other medicine than Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription could possibly "win out," as the saying goes, on such a proposition. But they know whereof they speak. They have the most remarkable record of cures made by this world-famed remedy ever placed to the credit of any preparation especially designed for the cure of woman's peculiar ailments, This wonderful remedy, therefore, stands absolutely alone as the only one possessed of such remarkable curative properties as would warrant its makers in publishing such a marvelous offer as is above made in the utmost good faith. WORLD'S DISPENSARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, 663 Main Street, BUFFALO, N. Y. "I want to tell you of the great improvement in my health since taking: your 'Favorite Prescription,'" says Mrs. H. S. Jones, of Forest, N. C. "When I began its use I was a physical wreck and had despaired of ever having good health again. Could not sit up all day. I noted a great improvement before the first bottle was all used. Was suffering with almost every pain that a woman is subject to : had inflammation of ovaries, painful and suppressed periods, and other symptoms of female disease. After taking six bottles of ' Favorite Prescription,' I felt like a new person. Can ride horseback and take all kinds of exercise and not feel tired."

FAMILY LUNCHEONS. (By Cornelia C. Bedford.) Luncheon is usually a woman's meal, asn a majority of families the men can only appear at the table morning and evening. Such being the case it too frequently happens that mistresses allow this meal to be
prepared and served in a careless,
even slovenly fashion and that the dishes are but too palpably a rehash of previous meals. Now there is no reason why the remains of yesterday's roast should not serve for today's luncheon, but there is no need of serving it in an unappetizing manner; nor does it follow that because the meal is a
simple one the maid should shirk her
duties or perform them in slip-shod fashion. Remnants often taste better in combination than in their orig
inal form, but they should appeal to
the eye as well as to the palate, while the maid who is allowed to be careless at lunch is soon likely to be
equally slack at breakfast and final
ly at dinner. The menus which follow are meant to be suggestive: 1 Baked Bean Soup. Mutton Hash in Pepper Shells. Brown Bread. Canned Fruit. Cocoa.
Potato Soun in Cups. Corned Beef Salad. Hot Milk Biscuit. Tea.
Cheese Pudding. Lettuce Salad. Cake. Fruit. Cocoa.

TILLING THE SOIL.
With our improved machinery there is no known country where a dollar will produce as many bushels of rice as in the United States. One field of a farm may have a soil that will hold but half an inch of water, while another will hold two inches out of the ten that may fall. An average coffee plantation contains 7Zl- acres, with 30,735 trees, which produce 1 3-5 pounds of co'Yeo each, or S00 pounds per acre. One person at an annual salary of $G3 attends SIS trees, from which he gathers and prepares 1,309 pounds of colfee.
ill) A LOVER i Who Earnestly Aspires to be A SUCCESSFUL LOVER Especially if Health is Fcor SHOULD TAKE VIT0NA. Vitoxa lessens the effect of nervous strain, no matter what the cause. Many lovers are made really ill by the doubts, fears and petty jealousies that love engenders, for true love never did run smooth. Too often lovers lose their appetitites, are sleepless at night, nervous and irritable. Vitoxa remedies all this by making a lover, feel as every true lover ought to feel full of courage and full of life I The above was written because of the following extract from a letter received, without any address given. It is interesting and well worth reading and proves that worry and anxiety will break down health when there is no other apparent cause. It is well to guard against this by taking Vitoxa. " I want to tell you of the good Vitoxa has done for me. My trouble was lack of courage in my recent courtship days. I was cowardly love-sick, ran down in flesh, lost my appetite, became melancholly and had shivery feelings that I could not understand. I took Vitoxa to build me up. It made a great change. It gave me great courage. I felt like a prince. I made love more vigorously and thanks to Vitoxa I won. 1 am married now and a happy papa."
Vitoxa costs one dollar a bottle or six bottles for five dollars, and while Tns Vitoxa Co.Coshocton.O.will continue to send it bj express prepaid on receipt of price it is now obtainable in this County For sale by Alford Drug Co.
