Mr. Heironimur, wishes a copy of the photographs of all groups of Garfield pupils left on file in his office. The basket ball team expects to send one of these pictures to Spaulding and have it placed in the official rule book. The girls game of basket ball "Wednesday evening was between the Reds and the Blues. The Reds defeated the Blues by the score of 9 to 6. The Giants again showed their supremacy by defeating the Crescents in a good game by the score of 32 to 4 "Wednesday noon. The Monarchs defeated the Victors by the score of 40 to 9. The Victors were given six of the nine goals if they wouldn't let Snyder of the Giants play with the Monarchs. The manual training models have been returned from the Indianapolis Teachers' Association but the models sent to Connersville have not been returned. -SiflESSESSD " There is much work being done in Garfield for the St. Louis Exposition. . ANNUAL SALE, TEH MILLION BOXES

Much has been said and written recently by educational thinkers on the need o making the public school buildings a place of meeting for study, amusement and recreation on the part of citizens young and old. A visitor to Garfield last night would have noticed a marked advance in

this line. At one time there was in progress the following: A school board meeting, a history class, a French class, and a basket ball game.

1 The S A committee to arrange com- I mencement exercises held their first f

meeting last evening and outlined the work they will have to do. The school council met Tuesday evening and discussed several topics pertaining to school work. The attitude of pupils toward those who are guilty of cheating was spoken of and also the need for a greater variety of recreation for pupils. The 8 A boys have hallenged the

boys of the other classes for a game

of polo. The challenge was promptly accepted and the 8 A boys responded j with a challenge for a game of bas-! ket ball. Both games will be played this evening and there is great interest on the part of the school as to the results.

Braised Veal. Take a piece of the shoulder, remove the bone and tie up the meat to make it firm. Put a spoonful of butter with a few shavings of onion into a stone crock or a kettle, and let it get hot. Salt and pepper the veal and . put into the vessel, put on a medium fire, until the meat is brown on both sides, turning it occasionally. Now set the kettle back where it can simmer slowly for two hours end a half. When setting back, see that the butter and juices of the meat make enough gravy; if not put in two tablespoonfuls of hot water. When the gravy is cold it will be like jelly; it can be served hot with the hot meat, or cold with the cold.
