When Johnny Comes Marching Home At last it has been demonstrated beyond the preadventure of a doubt that it is not absolutely necessary for the success of a comic opera to put the chorus' girls in tights. In the new. comic opera ''When Johnny Comes Marching - Home" that will be presented by the "Whitney Opera company at The Gennett tonight and which has made one of the most pronounced popular successes there is not a pair of tights worn, in fact, the girls go the other extreme, wearing the volumnious crinoline hoop skirts of their grandmothers and thep look prettier than they ever did. "Florodora." The musically inclined are looking forward with pleasurable anticipation to the forthcoming visit of Fish er & Ryley 's number one New York company in "Florodora." Past experiences have proven this to be the most tuneful and original of that large class of plays which are designated as musical comedy, and with the present big east, the gorgeous costuming and elaborate scenic and mechanical effects there is abundant reason for expecting a performance which will eclipse any the play has received in this country. In the care of a passably good company. "Florodora" would furnish pleasing entertainment, and with Adelaide Manola, E. E. Graham, Philip E. Ryley, Greta Risley, Niel McCay, Harriett Merritt, Jos. Phillips, Lillian Spencer and Thos. A. Kiernan as principals, a chorus of seventy, principally handsome girls with good voices, and the famous double sextette of "pretty maidens" and "gentle strangers" and a special orchestra the play has more to recommend it than ever before. And just as one anticipates the changes of other seasons it is wise to anticipate this change of season and prepare for it. In this way the discomforts and disasters suffered by many women at the period of change can be avoided or overcome. Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription, a medicine for every season of woman's life, will entirely meet the needs of women at this period of change. It cures the physical ills and relieves the mental anxiety and depression usually associated with this critical period. It trauquilizes the nerves, encourages the appetite and induces refreshing sleep. FOR WOMEN WHO CANNOT BE CURED. Backed up by over a third of a century of remarkable and uniform cures, a record such as no other remedy for the diseases and weaknesses peculiar to women ever attained, the proprietors of Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription now feel fully warranted in offering to pay $500 in legal money of the United States, for any case of Leucorrhea, Female Weakness, Prolapsus, or Falling of Womb which they cannot cure. All they ask is a fair and reasonable trial of their means of cure. J. S. Carlisle, Esq., of Manchester, Coffee Co., Tenn., writes: "I have been using- your medicines for the last sixteen or eighteen years in my Poor-house. I am superintendent of the Coffee County Poor-house and Asylum combined, Your 'Favorite Prescription, Golden Medical Discovery ' aud Pleasant Pellets are the best medicines for the diseases for which they are recommended, that I ever used.
