The dedication of the new K. of P. temple at Williamsburg occurs on the evening of Thursday next. Past Grand Chancellor C. E. Shiveley has been invited to preside over the ceremonies and will do so, which insures one fioe speech at all events. There will be a large attendance from this city of members of the order. Miss Stella Dalbey, who returned to tbe State Normal about two weeks ago. at the end of her vacation, where she teaches the Lloyd system, writes she has gotten settled to work again and finds it even plessanter than before, though more work has been added for her department. The divorce case of Kim vs. Kim comes up in circuit court tomorrow. This is one of the very few divorce cases here in which the man is the

aissausnea party, airs. Mm is m Chicago and has been for some time. The suit is brought on a claim of adultery and cruel treatment. Cambridge men who were in town t jday say that it looks now as if the Richmond Traction company would not be able to get a frunchise thro gb that place. Chipman has the franchise, and has put up $1,000 forfeit, and it is understood that he is going to build in from somewhere in order to save the franchise. If he does he will be directly in the way of the Richmond company, who will then go on around the town on what is known as the "old south road," leaving Cambridge out of their line entirely. John B. Dougan leaves in a few days for Florida and is looking forward to the trip with a good deal of pleasure. His health is improving very much of late, so much so that it is even hoped that he can do some hunting down there. A fine pair of dos for his use haye been broken by friends for his use and will be sh'ppe l down. Al and Ed Morrow and their friends are already there, and he will be with them a part of the time. The entire party will proba- . oly be at DeFuniak Springs during the Florida chautauqua, beginning February 15 and lasting about a month. The good work goes on at Grace church, with -conversions at every service. Mrs. Harris will preach tonight and tomorrow night. Sunday is to be a great day. Converts who desire to unite with the church will be received at the morning service. The city delinqent list will be published in this paper about the 24th.

It is already in shape for the printer.

York are visiting OMrs. Tracy

born, south of Richmond.

A grand bean supper will be given

at G. A. It. hall Saturday evening.

It now looks very possible, from

the New Castle papers, that John

Diehl will be free from all penalty

from complicity in the killing of Mary Farwg. Prosecutor Steele moved before he retired from his office, that the case be dismissed, feeling certain that under present con ditions Diehl couid not be again cnvictel. Jackson, the new prosecutor, will take no action at present. Mrs. Jane Patterson, of Trenton, came down yesterday on a visit to her grandson, John Osborn and family. The old lady is eighty-two years of age and still well preserved, enjoying life to the fullest, and especially the car ride. She bus lived in the one house, at Trenton, since long before the war, and raised a large family there. A very nice little surprise party was given last evening on Alf. Weishaupt at his home by Mr. and

Mrs. Max Hichsteig, Mr. and Mrs Frank Sauer and Mr. and Mrs. Adam Elstro. Refreshments, cards and music were the program of the evening.

i Miss Tina De Wees of Balbec, Jay

county, is visiting her brother, W. A. DWees, 439 south twelfth street. A grand concert is to be given at United Presbyterian church on the evening of February 5. It will be

given by I'ror. uranK Jt.yer, tne organist, with the assistance of Miss Grace Carr, violinist, of Hamilton; Mr. Frank BrafTett, baritone, this city; and the quartette choir of the cUirch. Aliases Clara and Florence

My rick, ' Messrs. Jack Taggart and Walter Luring. The program will be a particularly interesting one and cannot but be pleasing in these hands. The trials of the labor cases will come up in circuit court on Wednesday next. The workmen on the Tnterurban force are busy now with the installing of the new plant. Mr. Gunn says that they will haye it in use inside of the coming three or four weeks. There is a large amount of very massive and interesting machinery there. People wanting places to stroll to on Sunday need have no lack of them now. The new plants ot the street railway company and of the municipal electric light are both at a mast interesting point now for these interested in fine machinery. A stranger coming into the Pennsylvania depot this forenoon would have thought Richmond must be a great show town. Two companies were in the depot, the Utopians, who were waitiDg for the Elwood train, and the Kitzenjammer Kids, who came in from Dayton. A third company was en route to Cincinnati. It looked like a theatrical boom. The polo game at Fort Wayne last night resulted in 4 to 1 for the Richmond team. This morning Dick Van Zant was driving out near the Glen. His horse took fright at a passing street car and made a short turn, cramping the buggy around in - such a wav as to throw Mr. Van Sant out. He fell with so great violence as to render him unconscious. He was picked up

and taken to his home, 210 north

Tby are making dates now and have several. One o' the best of Charles Frohman 's companies will b3 se?n here for one night only next Tuesday at tbe Gennett theater presenting David Harum, the most successful comedy that has left New York this season. j. C. Wingate of the state board of tax commissioners is here today in council with local assessors, the object being to secure uniformity of assessments throughout the state. A very pretty social function was the reception today given at the parlors of the I'irst Presbyterian church bv the, Ladies' Aid Society, to the ladies of the church aDd congregation It lasted from 2:30 to 5 o'clock. The parlors were handsomely arranged and decorated, and

were very beautiful. There was music, and a nice little lunch served all visitors; the balance of the program was a social, a getting acquainted. There was a very large attendance and the affair was a brilliant success in every way. The officers of the society are: Mrs. Wm.

Dennis, president; Mrs. Rutledge Newman, first vice president; Mrs. O. V. Lemon, second vice president; Mrs Dr. Bulla, treasurer, Mrs. S. M. Buckley, secretary.

Remarkable Cure of Croup A. Little Boy' Lite Saved. I have a few words to say regarding Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. It saved my little boy's life and I

feel that I cannot praise it enough.

I bought a bottle of it from A. E. Steere of Goodwin, S. D., and when I got home with it the poor baby could hardly breathe. I gave the medicine as directed every ten minutes until he "threw up" and then I thought sure he was going to choke to death. Whe had to pull the phlegm out of his mouth in great long strings. I am positive that if I had not got that bottle of cough medicine, my boy would not be on earth today. Joel Demont, In wood, Iowo. For sale by A. G. Luken & Co. and W. A. Sudhoff, druggists.
