John Scott, known under the names of Howard and Donnell. was arrested at Uniontown, Ky., on the charge of bigamy and has confessed his guilt. Scott is a real estate man. In 1S92 he married Miss Julia K. Frost at Springdale. Ark. He lived with her a few months and, it is alleged, after getting a farm, left her. He was next heard from in Tennessee, where he married Mrs. Sallia Corder, near Paris, and afterward deserted her. Three other wives he claimed after this time were Mrs. Pearl Sutton of Mobile. Ala.; Mrs. Mary A. Gott of Ruddyville, Ky.. and Mrs. Jane Mattingly of Bowling Green. Ky. The names of his three other wives he refuses to give. The full surrender of the forces of General Marisigan, who with General Cabrera and a renegade priest named Castillo, gave themselves unconditionally, Jan. 1, to Goreral Bell, who is conducting the campaign against the insurgents in Patangas province, occurred yesterday at Taal. The insurgents created a surprise by bringing in CO more rifles than the authorities thought Marisigan cruld command in the district of Taal vhich he controlled. The Filipinos sut rendered included three colonels, one major. Ave captains and 12 lieutenants. They gave up 219 rifles and one cannon. All the insurgents who surrendered did so unconditionally. General Bell ordered the men to be released. Colonel Marisigan says he can prevail on many more men to surrender during th next few days, and also obtain possession of a number of additional rifles.
