Some Officials Here Conferring With the Local Society Of fleers Mr. E. E Stacy, state secretary of the Y. M. C. A . and M. S. Wood of New York, one of the field secre
taries of the international committee, were in the city today. They came yesterday and conferred with the losal! committee last evening, meeting them again today. Mr. Stacy being seen this morning said: "We find the local committee are giving the matters in their hands careful attention and feel much encouraged that there will be a strong association and a good building in Richmond at an early day. We are assisting them so far as we can by suggestions from our years of experience in the work, and when it becomes necessasy Mr. Wood will come here to assist in the active canvass. He has been in that branch of Y. M. C. A. work in all parts of the country for some eight years and is the best man for this place who could possibly be selected. Of course that is some little time in the future as yet, and still not so far as some might imagine. Things are very encouraging here."
