T. C. Jefferson of Lexington, Ky., has been iu the city for the past few days buying tine horses. Yesterday he purchased a fiae grey horse of
John B. Dousran, and also a highbred sorrel horse of Frank Lackey. The latter is a five-year-old. and nro-
nouneed by Mr. Jefferson the finest horse that ever went out of Wayne county, and equal to any horse ever bred in Kentucky. Mr. Jefferson is the srentleman who purchased the
noted horse, "Bell Boy," for $35,000, and recently sold him to eastern parses for JM.OOO. The horses were
shipped today to Mr. Jefferson's stock farm near Lexington, Ky. : The History club of the high school met last evenine at the school building, and had a debate on, Resolved, that the fifteenth amendment was a a mistake. The debaters for theaffirmtive were Will Ro' e and Robert Moore, and for the negative Malvern Jones and John Glover. The decision
was in favor of the affirmative. Clyde Beck read a paper on '"Cicero," and oue was also given by Lawrence Smelser on "The Battle of Chattanooga," both of which were well
received. The final meeting will be held in two weeks, and Bennett Gor
don will give an address on "Questions of the Day." There will also be a debate and orations at this time. Last evening at her home on narth
eleventh street entertained the
ladies' of the E. P. K. club of the
high school, of which she is a member, and their joang gentlemen friends in honor of her birthday. The feature of the evening was games, many of which were new and novel.

Buffalo, but to Chautauqua Lake.

St. Lawrence River and in Canada
