NOT WITH DYNAMITE.

If you hare sinned agalntt the lawi ot nature the penalty must be paid. Pretty dear experience, lan't U? You have made strenuous efforts to avoid tba penalty, but after abuaing your digestive organs with all sorts of unearthly combinations at all sorts of hours, and your blood bas become water and your bowels bare refused to

worn until your liver is dead, the penalty 1 not easily avoided. Cathartics la the form of little liver pills (or mlnature doaea of dynamite) are hardly what you want. They tear you all to pieces, weaken

me digestive organs and destroy the mua

eles of your bowels. You can bo cured of that dyspepsia and constipation, but not

xnat wsy. w hat you want is a thoroughly Tellable digestive compound which will do every particle of the work required of the

atg-estlve organs, thus giving them a much needed rest. Dr. Augustus Haggles. Treasurer of the Greater New York Medical Association, says: "There Is Just one scientific compound for this purpose, known as

Diamond Iioe?t Tablets which can be

relied upon to cure dyspepsia and constipation so they will stay cured." The ingre

dients are given on every box. and any physician can tell you bow they work. They are no secret patent medicine but a

Strictly scientific digestive compound, sold only through physicians heretofore, but Dow on sale at all drug stores; they are warranted to cure any case of dyspepsia smd restore the bowels and liver to perfectly natural action In two weeks or money refunded. More tlian IOO,XX),000 worth of India rubber bas txta imiorUHl Into the United States during the past four years and more than f Gu.OOO.OuO worth In the hist two years. A decade ago the annual Importations of India rubber amounted to about $ 15,0O0.OU0. Now

they exceed $30,000,000 and are steadi

ly Increasing. lYactieaUy all of the imixirtatioos of rubber come In crude form for use of manufacturers, who

are constantly extending Its applica

tion to various new lines of industry

Northern HraziL southern Mexico, the

est Indies, central Africa, India, the Straits Settlements and the Dutch East Indies supply this increasingly Impor

tant feature of our lmiortations. Prob

ably no single article has made a more

rapid growth in its relations to manufactures, and consequently commerce. In the past few years than rubber. Aa a consequence attention Is now being given to the cultivation and systematic production of the various plants and trees from which It can be produced. The above statement Is suggested by the receipts by the treasury bureau of statistics at Washington of a publication detailing the systematic efforts being made for the cultivation of India rubber trees and plants In the British colonies, especially those of central and South Africa. This, coupled with the well known fact that our department of agriculture has already begun experiments and Inquiries in this line in the Island territories of the United States, adds greatly to the Interest in this question itf 1 to the possibility that the $0,0f';0.oou a year which we are now sending out of the country for this product may be expended under the American flag and among American producers. The fact that southern Mexico and central America are natural producers of India rubber in considerable nnd increasing quantities and that large quantities are produced In and exported from the islands and mainland Immediately adjacent to the Philippines suggests great possibilities in this line both in Cuba, Porto Kieo and in the Hawaiian and Philippine islands. India rubber Is not, as is generally

supposed, the product of a single tree.

but, on the contrary. Is produced from a variety of trees and plants. Some of

these flourish only In a moist soil and atmosphere, while others thrive on stony soil provided they receive ample though Intermittent rainfall, though In all cases a tropical or subtropical climate Is requisite. Most of the India rubber of South and Central America

and India Is from trees, but In the is

lands of the Indian archipelago the

supply of rublKT Is chiefly from a gigantic creetier, which In five years' growth attains a length of 200 feet and from 20 to 30 inches In circumference

and which yields annually from 50 to

GO pounds of caoutchouc. Java, Su

matra. Pennng, Singapore and French Indo-Chlna are already large produc

ers of crude India rubber, or caout

chouc, and its production In the West

Indies has been sufllcient to Indicate the entire practicability of Its being

made an Important Industry In Cuba

and Porto Itlco as well as In the Ha
