Miss II. U. Johnson received a dis
patch from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., this
morning informing her of the death
of Elizabeth, vountrest daughter of
Brooks and Ellen Myrick Johnson.
She had entered a private school there but a few davs before her unex
pected death. She was 16 years of age. The remains will arrive here for burial on Monday.

evening, October 2, at 7:30 o'clock, after which meeting he will have an informal reception at Republican headquarters from 8:30 to 10 o'clock, to which everybody is cordially invited.

Geeks Mary A., wife of Henry Geers, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at her home, corner of south fifth and Liberty avenue . Death was due to heart trouble. Besides her husband, three brothers survive, the Rev. Anthony Walburg, rector of St. Augustine church in Cincinnati.

street after an illness extending over
a year, tier case was a banling one,

ceased was one of the most robust
women in the city, and at the time of her demise was reduced to a
mere skeleton. She was a most
exemplary wife and mother and had
the respect of a large circle of rela
tives and friends. She was the
daughter of Charles Knollenberg of
this city. A husband, one son and
two daughters are left to mourn her
death.

gatherings ever held in this city will
be the one to assemble here on Octo
ber 2j, to remain in session up to
and including October 2o. It is the
Presbyterian Synodieal oman s Home and Foreign Missionary so
ciety of the state of Indiana. This
will bring to the city some 12a dele
gates, all of whom are ladies of high
standing and social position, aside from their prominence in church
and other good work. It has
been many years since this body
met in this city, and in that inter
val it has grown in size and imIortance until it is one of the most important religious organizations of the state. The body is composed of
two bianches, the Home and the
roreign missionary societies, the Home being officered by Mrs. Julia Kendall of LaPorte as president and
Mrs. F. F. McCrea if Indianapolis as secretary; the Foreign has Mrs.A.H. Mitchell of Indianapolis as president1
and Mrs. R. V. Hunterof Indianapo-' lis secretary.
