The number of deaths from one to four years of age was 20S, which is 10.2 per cent, cf the wuole number, and 34.1 per cent, were 65 years of age and over, the number of this class being 094. The deaths from all forms of tuberculosis were 365, the pulmonary form causing 339, an annual death rate per 100,000 of 166. 6. Typhoid fever caused 48 deaths, an annual death rate of 23.5 per 100,000, indicating a total for the year oj 1,269; and February is not considered a typhoid month. Diphtheria and croup caused 57 deaths, an annual rate per 100,000 of 57, and this indicates an annual total of 1,507. Medical school insoection would materially reduce cases and deaths from diphtheria, scarlet fever, measles, whooping cough and like children's diseases. Twenty children died of whooping cough during the month. Cerebro-spinal ; meningitis caused 58 deaths, innu enza 65, puerperal septicaemia 7, cancer 78 and violence 87. The total number of deaths reported from small-pox was 4.
