There were ten chickens or two oreeas in each lot, ranging rrom rour w six weeks of age at the beginning or tne experiment. Each lot received the same food, cafe and treatment, excepting that one was fed all the sksni mut wanted, while the otner was none. The grain fed consisted of two parts crushed corn, one part bran and one part ground oats. They were also fed crac&ed bone, caooage ana lenuce. When the experiment Degas tne toiai we'srht cf one lot of chickens was only one-half an ounce more than the other. The experiment lasted from July 11 to Sept. 5. The results or the feeding show that the chickens fed milk and grain ate sotae considerable more grain than did these receiving no milk. The results also shew that the chickens of lot 1, recclvir-g no milk, made an average weekly gain of 2.62 ounces, while those fed milk made a gain per week of 4.46 , r.,.ca nr over one-fourth pound.
