DOG ORDINANCE.
Th Obnoxious! Bill to Ba Rapsalad It
is Thought, and Substituted With Something Else.
The dog ordinance in this eity at
present is as highly unsatisfactory as
it well can be. It is unsatisfactory to all classes, particularly those who have
dogs There is an ordinance already prepared, for presentation at the first meeting in January, to repeal the or
dinance now so obnoxious. Whether it will be replaced by another is not known, but the old one will perhaps fail t ntand when the o'e comes on its repeal. The ordinance now operative wa passed October 7," 1S93, and refers to the license ch ck to be worn by all dogs running at lnee. Fred C. Lahrman. 49s men's velvet slippy s. 'TVAS ROOTS' BILL

An Omission In the Article Regarding the New State Institution I pert ion Law. In the Palladium's article regarding the new law for the inspection of state inntitntions, the impression was criven rather strongly that the law had originated with the governor. This is not correct. While the governor was, with the members of the legislature, heartily in accord with the passing of the reform measure, he did not originate it. The bill was drafted and put through by our joint representative, Frank T. Roots, who is now the efficient chairman of the committee created by his bill. The credit is certain ly due to the two counties represented so ably by Mr. Roots, and to the sixth congressional district, whence most good things in Indiana arise. - The Richmond Loan Company will help yon buy Christmas presents.
