That fact was revealed in our dispatch from Paris yesterday. The only question yet to be settled with re- - gard to this matter is that of compensation to Spain. That will probably nvolve a lengthy discussion. The emperor of China is said to be suffering with "arterial Heterosis, cardiae and vascular, combined with transitory congestion of the kidneys, the preliminary of nephritis, sclerotic or interstititl, and of uraemia." This will be startling news t J the world in gereral, but it will not disturb the equinimity of his distinguished .aunt. If he is in the clutches of such a disease it will hardly be worth her while to cut his head off. While President McKinley was receiving the applause aud commendation of mifchy crowds of patriots in the west, the yellow press and Democratic editors of the east and elsewhere were keeping up their gait as circulutors of falsehood and detraction. The president was responding eloquently to the spirit ot "juinot imu Cu.it inspired Kim aud the great throuir of listeners; the yellow pres aud IV'iu.icrutia editors were moved by the b.tsest of motives in lying for gain, ou oue part, and political advantage on the other. And we didn't have to go around town "ringing up 9 trade either. The people flocked to the store. Ali day Saturday our store was crowded with anxious buyers, and as soon as the doors were opened yesterday the clerks were busy and continued so all day long. We had prepared tor the "siege," however, and have worked early and late to get stock in shape, and can handle large numbers of customers in an agreeable manner. We must close out the stock, but we want every patron of the old store to go away satisfied. A GREAT GUT has been made in the prices, likewise a great swath has been cut in our stock by eager buyers. But don't hesitate to stop and see for yourself. All we want is lor you to see and you will be convinced. JRemember, nothing reserved. All the latest styles'in Clothing, Hats and Men's Furnishings thrown on the market. READ! COME! BUY! Yours (too busy to write),

This is one of the happy ideas President McKinley left with one of the great crowds he spoke to ou his recent weeurn trip: "The job huuts the man now. uot the man the job, and where that coudition exists labor is always better rewarded. In every one of the great industries of the country we are feeling a decree cf prosperity which givs new hope to all our people. Not only are the people leasonably prosperous, bat the (rove "anient, in which yon are ali interested, is alike prosperous."

When you vote the Republican tickeNov. 8 yoa wiil vote to sustain wha we are a a uation, as President Mr Kinley recently described it. "W. have pretty much everything iu tbit country to make it happy. We have good money, we have ample revenues, we have unquestionable national credit, but what we want is new markets, and as trade follows the fUg it looks very ' much as if we were troiug to have new markets." The Democratic state officers with an Increase of reconrces froai taxation almost eqaal to the state foreign debt did not iu reducing that liability pay as much as 50 cents for every mau, woman and child in Indiana. The Republicans with diminished resources paid nearly one dollar per capita. That is the difference in kuowiug how to use money when you have it. Iu managing tbe-"urrent expenditure of the state the Republicans have saved $200,000 annually. They have turned all fees into the state treasury, drawn only a straight salary for their services, held all officers to strict accouutiugof all money in their keeping, created no ilenVteur-U! aud held ex pause uccouuts f.own ro te:i r.vk. "My mother was subject to sick headaches and "indigestion fur over a year. She was nnable to stand for any length ot time, and was obliged to stay in a dark room as she could not bear the lights She had no appetite whatever and her stomach was so weak she could not retain what food she did eat. She also had severe pains in her head. She suffered so much that she became but the shadow of herself. One day I happened to read a testimonial about Hood's Sarsaparilla. It Sounded So Truthful I persuaded her to try this medicine. Before finishing the first bottle there Mas an improvement in her condition. She no longer threw up her food and her headache was not as severe. She took in all four bottles of Hood's Sarsaparilla and several boxes of Hood's Pills and regained her weight. She is now enjoying the best ot health. Her digestion is good and she can eat almost anything she wishes. She is 43 years old and says she feels as well as when she was 16.
