Cleveland Baking Powder Co., i A DUBLIN JSALOOIJ. 1 The People of Tht Village Rfghtcoaslv Indignant at a Threatend Innovation. The Wayne Register of Dublin says: It looks now very much as though we were going to have a real-for-sure saloon in Dublin, as Henry Beale of Cambridge City has commenced the publication of a license notice in the Wayne Citizen for an appliaation to sell all kinds of intoxicating drinks in Dublin in l?ss quantities than a quart. He has rented the building owned by Frank Ogborn. and proposes to run a saloon and pool table therein. Now as this building joins onto one owned by the Old Fellows on the west and also one owned by Samuel Dillon, on the east, strong effort will be made by them, together with the citizens in general, for a hard fight against it. Of course we may not be a good judge in the tnitter, but we hardly think a saloon h re would pay. As regards the saloon element here, we think there are many more of our citizens now who favor a saloon here than there was a few years ago. Still there are enough left of the faithfu ones to give the saloon question a hard fight before one can be landed in oui midst. We await further develop ments. TENNIS TOURNAMENT. Three Colleges Contest for Honors a Earlham Today The state inter-collegiate tennis tournament is going on at Earlham college as we go to press. The college representation out of the city was not np to Jhe expectations of the movers 'of this first tournament, only twocolleges Hanover and University of Indianaplis. Nothing can be determined aj to who will win the tournament, but it is said that Earlham 'a chances are very good An organization will be effected this afternoon. The Thrawlev Case. Reed, of this city, is raising a regiment in Chicago, of which he is to be colonel. Tha Conoart. The concert at the First M. E church was a verv superior affair from the standpoint of merit. Mrs. Will iams is an unusually fine impersonator and the m isic was as well rendered as amateurs can render dramatic musi for accompaniment. The patronage was extremely poor, far more so than the merit of the entertainment deserved. It was not a financial success. Tha Grand Jury. The grand jury will not report on the O'Neil case today. They now have the J ellion case to look into. Cabinet photos $1.00 per dozen, at Ryder's, 72- Main street. 20JJ Men, buy your summer underwear at Fietcher's. Prices from 50c a suit up.
