and has been known to make all Europe sneers within six weeks. It used to be thought that this epidemio moved in
definite eycles of one hundred years.
Although such an idea haa been long
abandoned, it ia a eurious fact that the

The lion. E. L. Bonner, of Montana, frequently spoken of es a Republican candidate for the United States Senate, is in New York, and to a reporter spoke as follows regarding politioal affaire in that new State : "Our party haa several oandidstes for the Senate, amoag them Mr. Powers, Jndge Enowles and Mr. Hersehfiald. Ex Governor Hauser is the asoet prominent Democratic candi

Late on Monday the Demooratio Senators went into the Republican Sen ate, I Judge by that action that some kind of an arrangement haa been concluded by which a Republican and a Democratic Senator will be eleoted. The Senate is a tie, and the House, if the Democratie members go ia. will have, not counting the contested eestt. fust one Republican majority. We have had exciting times in Montana. The next eleotion will not be as eloee as this laat one, but will give the Republicans a majority of aome 3,000 or 4.000. A combination of eireumstanoes made tbe eleotion close. In thres or four years from now tbe State will gire at least 5,000 or 6 000 majority for tbe
