Marion P. Martin, aged seventy, aa old
pioneer, was shot and killed yesterday by Mrs. Margaret Taylor, living near Cottage Grove, Lane ooanty. The woman elaimed that daring the absence ot her huaband Martin eame to the house and attempted to assail her. After repeatedly warning him to deaist, and on hia eontinued re total to do so.
Mrs. Taylor shot him in the head, causing instant death. Mrs. Taylor
anrrendered herself to the authorities,
and after a thorough investigation by the eoroner's Iury exonerated the
woman from all blame. Martin was the
father ot grown sons and daughters.
