A better run, however, would be on Frank Cotton's lumbar yard. A number of people havo been discussing the proposed homestead law wherein the amount exempt from exeention would be SI,OOO. They ail thought it would be u good thing, because persons who were not worth that sum would have to pay as they went and they would not lire at the expense
of others.

Nancy Mary, duagliter of -Jacob end Annie Dillavoo, died of diphtheria at her parents’ residence in Walker township, Jasper county, Indiana, February 13th, 1879, aged 14 years aaJ 12 days. She was born in ibis county. A loving daughter, affectionate sister, kind and generous associate, ahe Was no less modest, amiable and truthful. The writer of this, her last, teacher, can say that she was a model pupil, always conducing herself with propriety and acquitted herself with credit. Being industrious and persevering, she knew no such word as fail. Just before her death she told where she wanted to be buried, how she wanted to be diessed, divided her ■73 k. earthly possessions and (lisa requested us all to meet her in liaaven. She died as dies the rose Ulasted liy an uutiiaely frost. Alas! how many parents mourn Their darling roses lost.
