Died. —December 14th, Ida May; rood 15 years; Ettn,aged 11 yew/diughters of John 0. and Mary Culp/of Barkley township. Disease dtpthcria. The epidemic has been prevalent in that neighborhood since the latter part of October, causing the closing of the school. Many friends sympathise with the bereaved family. The school has suffered in the loss of t*a very promising and beloved scholars. RjcoWBOUND.— For two days the train has s’ood on the truck in Tiiompttob's pasture, half a mile south of, Pkasaut Ridge, snowed fast in a drift two hundred feet long. The mail was not carried out or brought over on Tuesday, but a team was sent to Bradford for it and passengers, yesterday, which will abo make the trip again to day. Assistant Superintendent Millikan has a force of hands shoveling through the drift thia morning, and expects to move ' the train through on a round trip be tween Rensselaer and Monticello to day. New Year's Eve.— At Starr’s Hall December 31st, 1878, and January Ist; 1879, will be given dramatic exhibitions. Btephy for the first night is a pleasing domestic drama entitled ‘"The Chimney Corner," to be followed by that terrible farce, “Betsy Baker.” On Wednesday evening will be given a revolutionary drama known as ‘‘One Hundred Years Agn,” and a comedy ad led ‘-Done on Both Sides.” The casts for these plays are unusually strong, consisting of M r., Edwin G. Bean, supported by some of the very best home talent.
