The Newest Jewelry.
For bracelets the most recherche are the solitaire jewels set in a narrow band of gold, and of these several are worn upon the arm as rings upon the fingers. Thus a sapphire, ruby and diamond aro often worn upon one wrist, and perhaps a pink, white and black pearl upon the other. Or if a single wide bracelet is worn, it may be in the form of a serpentine coil, perhaps six to eight strands, graded in size and fitted with springs so as to clasp the arm and retain its place wherever it may be put. For pendants, the most novel and curious are set with fancy-colored pearls, black, pink, bronze, yellow, salmon and gray, together with those possessing tho beautiful iridescent “orient” so highly prized; or, again, with fancy-colored diamonds—for there are diamonds of all colors, and they aro now eagerly sought for. For ear-rings, solitaire diamonds continue to lead, thopgh some tasteful devices that go well with the new collarettes and diamond flowers aro formed of a little blossom of diamond palled leaves from which the solitaire is«Y>endant. Solitaire pearls are in high favor, and all the rarer colored stones are also worn in the ears. A new departure is to wear different jewels in tho ears, as a sapphire in one and a ruby in the other, or a ruby and a diamond, as to have the two alike is but a repetition, and not so effective. For rings, the solitaire diamond is still favorable for an engagement token, but sapphires, rubies ana pearls are being used more and more frequently. There is a variety of new settings for rings. One very pretty style is formed witn a diamond of fair size, and a sapphire, ruby or emerald equally large, set close" to each other, the band or shank being set with floor delis, or other ornaments wholly formed of small diamonds, which completely cover the ring. Ode Style of ton-stone hoop ring, composed of two rows of five stones each, is arranged as follows: White diamond, emerald, yeUow diamond, ruby and white diamond in one hoop; rnby, white diamond, sapphire. brown diamond and emerald in tho other. The effect of this combination is highly navel and pleasing.— Buffalo Express.
