The Time* bssno sympathy or support for the flu* money scheme of the nationals. In our mind it is neither practical nor politic; and will never come to pass, lint we do believe in redeemable greenbacks, possessing all the legal tender qualities of gold and silver, and exehangablc at the treasury for coin, either gold or silver, at the option of the government.— Seminyton Timet. Although this is good sense it is too lute in the campaign for the flats to benefit by the advice, speaking from the standpoint of partisanship. They thrust forward the absolute' money proposition as an important issue of the campaign, their candidates are pledged to advocate Us adoption in practice; the democracy of Indiana, true to demagogulsm and false to the sound precepts of the fathers—”'Silas Wright, Thomas Renton, Andrew Jacksou and men of that practical school—pandered to the debasing heresy to compass a coalition for their own party advantage; the republican party joined issue with the allies on this proposition, and thus we come before the people who are to decide ttie dispute in next October. It is too late in the proceedings to amend the compiuiut. The democracy, of which the nationals are a component, have the wrong'side in the debate. Absolute money, fiat money, is not money; but it is a proposition of dishonesty, a scheme to defraud creditors out of their just dues, a means to cheat the poor man out of the little he has and the wage of his toil, it Is designed to dishonor 4be nation in the estimation of every honest person, it is simply repu diation’in a painted mask.

Oh Jimmy l Why did you? Now hath the beautiful garden of our fond imaginings been made desolate by the blighting frost of this sad man’s untimely revelations!
