The Town of Rensselaer.

At the meeting of the Board of Trustees' May lltli, William Meyer, Marion L. Spitler, Hewitt C. Hopkins, Peter Rhoades and George Kannal were qualified os trustees, Willis J. lines treasurer, Truitt, P. Wright’ clerk, and Marshall 1). Rhoades assessor. Wright gave bond in the penal sum of S2OO with VV. J. Imes and Henry I. Adams' sureties. Marshall D. Rhoades gave a bond in like sum with Emstus Peacock and George M. Robinson as sureties. W. J, lines gave bond in sum of $2,000 with T. P. Wright and James H. Loughridge sure-’ lies. Urdered assessor to proceed at once to make an assessment roll of nil property, liable to taxation in the town of Rensselaer on the first day of April, 1878, which tttlf is to be submitted to the board on or before the second Tuesday in May, 1878. Ordered special meetings of board at 7 o'clock p, m. May 16th and 20th. Ordered that the place of meeting be in the sheriff'* office in the court house. Ordered notice to be" served on C. C. Starr, ex-treasurer, to (He his report with the board for settlement at' regular meeting in June. May 16th board met and received asses.*-, ment roll from assessor and ordered clerk' to post wri;ten notices that assessment roll was open for inspection until May 20tl>, when the board would meet to hear and decide complaints. Ordered board of trnstees of Weston Cemetery to make cortfpletff report of all their official proceedings since' last report, including a statement of moneys received and expended and for what purposes, the same to be presented at regular meeting in Jone. May 20tb, board met and proceeded to examine assessment roll and decide appeals' therefrom. Having decided that it was' nceessary to raise the sum of $1,90C for* corporation or general fund the levy for that purposo was fixed at twenty-five cents on each SIOO valuation, twenty-live cents poll-tar, one dollar on each mole deg and two dollars on each female deg. For special tuition purposes the levy sma fixed at twenty-five cents on each SIOO valuation. For special school twenty-iivo cents on each SIOO valuation. For road purposes twenty-fire ctfnts, et each' SIOO. Ordered clerk to make cfqpjitite record of takes assessed against each person liable to taxation in town of Rensselaer,, and submit the same at regular meeting ip June, which will be on the evening of the' fourth day.
