Uncle Jackey Phillips.

"Uncle Jaekey’* Phillips of Hanging Grove township was buried last Saturday by the fraternity of Odd Fellows, of which order he had been long a member. Mr. Phillips was born in Virginia in May, 1797. He was a soldier in the War of 1812. In 1844 he moved to this (Jasper) county; and was elected sheriff a few years aferwanls. A large concourse of relatives, neighbors and friends followed the remains of this genial old patriarch to the grave.
