There he had been for years • denouncing Carpet-Bagisjn and yearningfor Marne Government; yet as soon as he took hit seqt in office he imported a Carpet-Bagger to perform the duties. He howled Uke a Wild Wolf about the Radical President's Nepotism; but as toon as possible carried the Patronage at his disposed to his Cousin. He was Opposed to Party Issues effecting local poutios, but always works hard, to Defeat all Republicans. He ran his Campaign on the issue of Retrenchment, denouncing his Opponent for hit Extravagance ; yet are his Quarterly Allowances any Least Eight Hundred and Party-eight Honest Grangers voted for him, out he did not dart to Trust one of them as a Deputy. His Friends urged his election on the ground of his Superior Qualifications; but he is Compelled to employ an Expert to Supervise his Work and Keep his Books Straight. I tell you, sir , he is just the (JunninoKBT Democrat in the Business; he is a Biger Man than OF Tildcn! I alters luf when I think how he Pooled them Honest Grangers.
