The literary organisation whioh meets regularly every Thursday evening, at the school bouse, is said to be Increasing in numbers and growing in interest. Hr ■ On Sunday, at the usual morning hear, Her. D. J. Huston wilt deliver a memorial sermon in which he will review the the history of the Baptist church at Rensselaer. The Ladie*’ Missionary Aid Society concert, which has been postponed for some time, will be held at the M. E. Church next Sabbath evening. Every body invited. On tho lStfc instant a marriage license was issued to John H. Quarry and Celia Jane Prevo, on the 14th to Emanuel Clouse and Mitlinda M. Shannahan, and oq the 17th to John Abram Wahl and Sarah Ann Shew. - r - - Every family in Jasper county that updeinstands the English language ought to subscribe to a county newspaper. It they eanuot afford to take Thu Unjon at $2 a year, let them pay 11.50 for the Democratic Sentinel. For three or six months the price for either is the same, being 50 cents and $1 respectively. Members of company 6, ninth regiment Indiana infantry, will be pained to learn of the death of Comrade Thomas Moore, whiohjoopurred in Iroquois county, 111., on Mopday of lest week. Mr. Moore had been a bed-fast inva'id since five years ago last August. The natnre of his disease is qot known to the writer. M., conducted by Rev.
