A gent’s gold, bosom pin with Alaska diamond set was lost by Mr. James Patton on Monday evening. The finder will be suitably rewarded by leaving it at R. 8. & Z. Dwiggins* law office.

The festival last Monday evening, under the auspices of the ladies of the Methodist Episcopal church, netted them about >27, which will be applied to the liquidation of certain society indebtedness. Why is it so many people flock to Charley Starr's for their groceries and provisions? It is simply because he carries a larger stock than any other grocer in Rensselaer, and sells cheaper than the cheapest. The regular monthly meeting of the temperance society was held in the court house last Monday night. The attendance was large, the programme a good one, and everybody felt that it was good to be there.
Mr. D. B. Nowels, teacher, reports the enrollment of pupils at Bowling GreSn school for the month ending November 24th, 1876, was 37, and the average daily attend, ance Thomas Churchill, Fenton Churchill, Luther Churchill, Marion Churchill, Willy Salter, Charles Porter, Agnss Brown, Clara Coen, Nellie Coen, Ida Makeever, Sanford Makeev er, Milton Makeeyer, Melville Makeever and Lizzie Yoder were perfect in attendance and punctuality. Each pupil has been commendably industrious and ord.edy; and the whole school has done exceedingly good work, for which ■ the pupils themselves deserve all credit.
On Monday the bridge recently built acrosH tlie Iroquois River at Lamson’s Ford was accepted by the boar&Afdounty commissioners, and a full aettlement made with Mr. John P. Dutilap the contractor. This bridge iff one of considerable importance to the people who live north of the in the western part of the couuty, as it enables them to taka;'the surplus products of their farms to the Remington market and eut off a detour of five or six miles. It is told us that Mr. Dunlap carried out his contract in the bpirit as tfbll as to the letter, and that his work in all respects is excellent in character. There was no slighting, Hb shoddy work done.
