Mr. John P. Carr vs. His Traducers.
Kdito* Montioxixo Htrdd: The Remington Jtooord of the fifth ultimo among other thing* asks: “Do you want a man to legislate “fbr yon who charged his neigh“bora one ce»t per head for water“ing their stock on his premises in “time of drouth? * * If so, just “oast your ballot for John P. Carr.” Although I am politically opposed to Mr. John P. Carr I will say that I watered from ISO to 600 head of cattle on bis premises for a term of six weeks, during a severe drouth in 1878, driving them near half a mile over his grass, sometimes hay* ing to move nis cattle out of the way, and he did not charge me, nor did I pay him, one cent; and I am satisfied that others fared the same as l did, though not to the same extent. For whjbh, instead of condemning him, Mr. Carr has my
sincere thanks.
J. P. McCORMICK.
